My Book of Bible Stories- Sex and Violence
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inon a previous post on the bible's sex-violence several mentioned children and the yellow book (1978 version).
i will compile a list here.. one only needs to go to story 6 to find a man smashing his brothers skull in and picture of his brother's blood on the ground.
the very next story 7 has pictures of violence, clut worship, drunkeness, (unimplied sex).. the next story 8 shows a giant beating a person the death while holding them with one hand.

by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

i was already on my way to my second fade when i went to the wildlife photographer of the year 2012 exhibition, but this photo made me lose faith in the idea of a loving creator......(the gazelle has been injured by the mother cheetah so she can use it to train her cubs to hunt).

What is the "new" date JWs are "hinting" at for Armaggeddon?
by booker-t inafter the 1975 "we did not say point blank armaggeddon was coming we only suggested it might come" fiasco what is the new date jws are "hinting" at for armaggeddon?
i know now they do not point to any specific date but hint that maybe it might occur such as before 2000 the preaching work will be finished.
this is a suggestion not a prediction so they can wiggle out of this one.

Depends .... ending field service would get the doubters back in line because weren't we always told that Armageddon would come after the preaching work had stopped?
However I think that would open the bOrganisation to criticism if nothing happens. Kool Aid anyone?

Interesting talk with an uber dub relative today
by joe134cd inmy relative asked me a question today of why half the witnesses in this country had to travel to the opposite end of the country to attend a convention, when in some areas it would of been closer to attend a convention that was only 3.5 hours up the road.
i replied by saying the society could be getting some sort of benefits if they can prove they can bring x amount of dollars into the city.
she replied by saying they would never do that.

The Dublin "apostasy" after Ray Franz incident - searching for the audio testimony of John May
by Nostromo ingoogle is not my friend anymore, it seems, i cant find a thing.. i was searching for the audio file where john may, the elder from dublin, tells his story when he traveled to brooklyn to find out the truth about the ray franz incident.
i do not mean the talk of his that you can find on 4jehovah.org or 4witness.org, this was a different audio testimony where he just basically tells what happened to him and to his irish elder friend merriman when they wanted to discuss the rf issue with the gb.
i had this file once but cant find it anymore.

I remember John May gave a talk at the assembly called "Are you building with fire-resistant materials?"
When news of his apostasy got out there was shock that someone who would give such a talk could succumb.
Of course, the real real question was never asked: What would make someone who knows about "fire resistant" materials STILL leave?
