Hello..need help...I'm on the brink of :(
by crazito inshort story:.
never had a real religious formation until i met the witness in my teenage years.. not everything has been bad but most of my friends there and exwife have been cheaters, liars and hypocrites.... i called it quits this year as i could no longer swallow their truth.
i remarried a supposedly "christian" 23 yr old woman that has shown me how bad things are 'out here'.... regarding her i have a question... those of you that continue to uphold bible's principles and love for our dear creator please advise on the following situation:.

"I wanted to throw the book across the room"
by GetBusyLiving ini just read the topic "i thought i was alone" by newbie elinor.
i found it interesting how he mentioned that he wanted to throw the daniel book "across the room" after reading some of the many misapplied prophecies concocted by the overlord's in brooklyn.
when i was a jw i also fantasized at times of throwing the book across the room, but for me it was the revelation book over ten years ago.

I wanted to masturbate my brain by rubbing the Watchtower language all over my intellect and then heave a sigh of self-satisfaction that I was in the only "true" religion!
LOL! That's probably the best explaination I've heard! So true. -

Have you heard: "Worldly people just live for the holidays"
by Gopher inwhile i was a jw, around this time of year i would often hear jw's saying that non-jw's live only for their holidays, because that's all they have to look forward to.
after all, they don't have the wonderful hope of living in paradise on earth forever under the loving direction of jehovah's organization !!
so, for those of you who are former jw's or never were jw's, what would you say about that idea (wordly people only live for holidays), and why do jw's really say that?.

So what? I mean really!?
So what if someone loves holidays, so what if they love the world. You'd think a person that loved the world would do something to improve it... even make the holiday time more enjoyable for others! Perhaps that's their thing in life! Perhaps that's something they really enjoy, and get great enjoyment in seeing others happy!
Does it really make one lick of difference if ANYBODY, lives for ANY reason for JUST that one single purpose!?
The world would be a better place if Jehovah's Witnesses stopped grumbling about the world, and actually rolled up their sleeves and did something about it. Not neccessarily as an organization, but as individuals. Living their life to have fun, and share that with all that they meet.
Every time I talk to them they just bring me down. Little wonder they no longer introduce themselves at the front door as Jehovahs Witnesses, they know the depressing effect they have on people they meet and seek to avoid such confrontations.
If they are going to introduce themselves at the front door, wouldn't it be better if the householder was looking forward to a visit because of all the nice things they've heard about them on the radio, tv and internet.... or is the opposite occuring?
ok, rant over. -

For Newbies: EXCELLENT Judicial meeting with LOTS of info!!
by Lady Liberty inthought i would bump to the top this excellent tape recording of a judicial meeting.
you will find the person "on trial" has bneen a elder himself.
once he realised things were not adding up he ended up disassociating himself along with his wife.

The origins of the Star of Bethlehem - was Satan really behind it?
by truthseeker inthere's an interesting dicsussion going on in channelc about the origins of the star of bethlehem.. "the wt continues to teach that the star was in fact a light from satan, who was seeking to kill the child jesus.
what i noted from actually reading the account, is that there is no justifiable proof from scripture, that what the wt teaches about that light being from satan, is true.".
....... and i have to concur.

To answer this question, you first have to understand what a Star actually is.
Is our own star a thermonuclear device isolated from the rest of the Universe, slowly depleting it's fuel, or is it an electrical plasma pinch point as part of a larger electrical circuit that connects all star systems, planets and galaxies? A Sun that consumes electrical plasma to make it bright and hot.
If the Galactic electrical currents fluctuate (as I'm sure they do.... we have an 11 year sun spot cycle already), our own Sun could easily extinguish overnight, become dim, or change colour of even have multiple colours.
Saturn was once known as the second sun to ancient civilizations. It could've been electrical lit as part of a plasma circuit. It's wafer thin discs are still unexplained, although there may be an electrical reason for them.
The world is so much bigger and more complex than the WatchTower would have you believe. I hate their narrow viewpoints, but worst of all because they teach with false authority.
Blaming Satan for strange things in the sky is soooooo dark ages! When will people wake up and start thinking, learning or researching for themselves? -

Hello, Don't be too hard on yourself, that can be a certain kind of hell in itself - which I think you already know! I'm glad to see you've made the decision to make your own choices in life. Well done! This is an excellent step forward... and now to answer your question: "If one would have friends, one must show self friendly! This is not merely as an idiom, or as a saying, but truth! This should not be merely preached at the entity, but practiced with the entity!" UpAndAtom

For 30 years his wife has provided him with 3 meals per day - Poor wife!
He can't remember a single meal that she cooked - for the life of him! Again... poor wife!
If she didn't serve him, he would be dead today . Dumb wife! ha ha. Or very devoted to a man that does not remember even one meal from 32000... and again, dumb wife!
He draws a direct comparison between the Kingdom Hall and his wife.... again... poor wife.
As a non-JW, is it normal for JW men to compare their wifes to inanimate objects, buildings or religion?
Are women not appreciated for the beautiful people that they are? I know I apprecaite mine, and I remember many wonderful (and not so wonderful) meals, parties, BBQ's, banquests, feasts and so much more!
He never explicitly said he could remember the talks either (and thus we should not make that assumption on his behalf). In fact, he was very quick to draw the analog that it does not matter if you remember. It's what you do to keep you alive (for the life of him), even if he can't remember either!
I found his response an amazing feast! -

Does anyone know how or where I can go to interpret a dream?
by FreedomFrog inlast night i had a very disturbing nightmare.
i don't get nightmares often, but this one was pretty intense and detailed.
most of my dreams are either ok, confusing, or just a tad disturbing.

>> I was walking in my dining room and then I heard something horrible going on.
Something is wrong at ‘your’ home.
>>I walked into the hallway and there I seen my stb-ex (in my dream we were still married and happy) standing there with his head cut off and hanging down by just a piece of skin.
What does your ex’s head represent to you; headship, intelligence? Only you can answer this one, no one can interpret it for you. In any case, he did not lose his head, but you thought it a disaster. There is an imbalance between how you felt, and how he felt.
>> There was blood everywhere in the hallway... well, it gets even gorier so I'll skip to where I walked in the hallway and he was still standing up. He was still alive and walking around as if nothing was happening.
The gore may represent the ugliness, the gross, the disturbing, or just a disaster for which overwhelms you. This is something that YOU felt. He on the other hand felt nothing. (Note: Your dream is not about him – but you)
>> He was even talking to me in my dream as if to calm me down.
He is trying to help you understand the situation – your dream – the message, however you are not seeing it.
>> I called 911 and the medics sewed his head back on. All around his neck they had sewn as if his neck was sewn perfectly with a sewing machine. Everyone around me was acting as if it wasn't something to panic about.
This is such a clear dream. It’s telling you that things are not as bad as you think. Problems are easily solved… even the difficult ones. In fact, when the problem is solved it can look very neat and tidy afterwards… even something to be proud of. Problems for you, may not be problems for others. Perhaps you don’t need to try and save someone else, perhaps it’s not in your best interests to call for help, although if you do, the result will still be good. Despite the enormity that the situation appears, the problem may not actually be as bad as you think.
>> The nightmare was so detailed and real feeling that it's still "messing" with me even 2 days later.
Perhaps you had already missed the point of an earlier dream and needed the message repeated a bit more strongly and/or differently. Don’t concentrate on the gore, but what that gore represents in relation to the dream as a whole. Was the spilling of blood an issue.
>> The nightmare felt like it was all night long. I am scared about having that dream again. I was a bit ill when I woke up from so much gore in it.
If you missed the point of this dream, then you will probably have another dream to help you understand the point. This is what recurring dreams are all about. Once you figure them out, they never come back. Thus, you have an incentive to examine this dream in a more clinical and emotionally detached way. What was the message? Pray on this and ask for an answer. You may just have another dream that helps you understand, but perhaps in a different way next time.
Don’t forget the old saying, Why worry when you can pray?
