The author of this thread is the most ignorant, retarded person I have had the displeasure to come across in a long time. So why stop at the drug addicts? lets just kill everyone we don't like. What about peopl who are obese? Retards? Adulterers? Where does it end? Sooner or later we will run across a class that you fit into. Oh yeah, I already mentioned that. Retards.

RE: HAMSTERBAIT
If the government could control the revenue from these drugs like it does alcohol and tobacco, they would have been legalized long ago.
But why not put cyanide in tobacco, and poison the alcohol supply.
That would kill of even more undesirables.

I'm guessing that Hamsterbait forgot to pull said mammal from his rump and is now feeling the ill effects of his mistake, for only a mongotard or a person with a starving hamster in his can would come up with such a stupid comment. Go get some medical help for that problem Hamsterbait, and remember, the rump-hole is an exit, not an entrance, you dolt.

Excuse me
But
Alcohol is pervasive. It affects a wide number of addicts. Simply because it is legal and socially more accepted than alternatives, it is more insidious - and causes huge damage.
Tobacco has been called the most addictive drug available. It too is legal, more accepted than alternatives, and causes great damage to the user and as many say "second hand" smokers.
The vitriol expressed here is unfounded. If "drugs are bad, m'kay", then let's talk about the fuller scope of drugs.
Some of the evils associated with illegal drugs - specifically, crime engaged in to pay for them (which seems to be the thing that some find most upsetting about the "drug problem") - would indeed disappear if these drugs were legalized in some fashion.
As for addressing the addict - I think you will find that if you want to make things better, compassion is a more effective avenue to travel; if you would just prefer to rag on someone you feel superior to, then by all means continue.

I would suggest that those of you who have somehow managed to get a broomstick stuck in your orifice(excluding Hamsterbait who prefers live animals) and are now walking funny, to blow the dust off that bottle of booze you have hidden under the couch and take a long pull from it, in other words, lighten the hell up. Anyone who has had to deal with a drug addicted person knows that even though said person took it upon themselves to try drugs, once hooked, they are helpless to stop on their own and need proper medical and psychological help, not cyanide laced drugs or alcohol. No one tainted your drinking water when you all decided to join a cult which I for one, know is a crock of bull-dinky and an obvious bad decision to make in life, kinda like trying drugs and getting hooked, except the drug of choice is a bogus religion instead of heroin, crack, or even alcohol. I'll bet a fat man to a skinny mule that some of you folks have shoveled out thousands of dollars over the years to support the JW cause, what do you have to show for it, let me answer that, zero, zilch, nada. Those of you who had belonged to the JW's and left for various reasons were just like addicts that kicked their habits and realized that what you were doing was counter-productive to your general well-being. Please don't be so quick to knock the drug addict, in his heart he doesn't want to be this way, but is afraid of what happens if he stops, sound familiar you ex-JW's. Show a little compassion for your fellow man, he bleeds the same color you all do.

In some Eastern places drugs are felt to be worse than sex crimes! Can you imagine actually feeling that way? It's due to imprinting and undermining your society to an extent that it causes generations of poverty and suffering by undermining the economy!
During the British Empire, trading ships would visit India, pick up opiates, and sail up and supply massive areas of China and other nations who would trads their wares. The overwhelming effects demoralised some economies so badly that they took generations to reclaim what they previously had as a manufacturing /farming nation.
I'm unfamiliar with the nuances of such a widespread problem but can imagine they are well known and why some governments treat them so seriously!
Drugs being too widespread is seen as a potential destroyer of an economy leaving it at the mercy of suppliers and allmanner of expliotation!

I can't believe how easy it is for some to sit in judgment of others. An addict is an addict no matter what drug they use or how they become addicted.
So, I guess that means that the people who become addicted to pain meds for legitimate reasons should also be condemned? Dr's prescribe these meds all the time for people in pain and when it stops working gives them something stronger and even ups the dosage, but fail to tell these people that one day these meds will no longer help but that they will still need them just to get by. Since the body now demands these drugs in order to just function. When they try to get off of them on their own they suffer terrible withdrawals so they decide that they better keep using in order to feel normal.
I know of what I speak as I have a dear friend who is going through this very thing. She is also prescribed Klonopin for panic attacks and wasn't told that she will have to remain on these for the remainder of her life because coming off of them causes seizers and all kinds of psychological withdrawals. I guess we should ship her off too and everyone like her?

When a human develops a relince on something chemical or otherwise in order to just pass through each day, they are in need of help and understanding and more than anything love and caring if their return is to ever be to one of independence and productivity.
That is the crux of the matter!
Many seeing them and realising the massive journey they have yet to make think it all the more simple to reject them for what in fact they chose to take in the first place!
When I hear people tell me every choice is your choice - I just roll my eyes in my head and stay silent for the most part!
It's an empowering thought to hold for self help in the future but one needs to acknowledg that no person would choose to visit where they are at unless the alternatives they saw were filled with despair - which is what pushes many into self harm situations without their wishing it - their feelings are blown apart and they have no network of love around them!

Anyone who wants to go help my sister can get on a plane and go save her. Myself, I don't enable drug addicts.
Many of these replies are completely off topic, have not read all the responses, and are just as ignorant as my first post. You're no better than me - you didn't have the pleasure of 'saving' her crack babies from months of neglect. I have a good right to be angry, and if you guys want to play hippie with me, go sit in your houses far away from these druggies and give no answers - just blame anyone but the addict. It's more my fault that they're addicted to drugs - that's the jist that I'm getting from most people here.
Me, I'll continue to be retarded. Wow, that's a nice word - they're called developmentally disabled, you neandrathal. Call someone retarded nowadays and it's like calling a black person a you know what. How's that for ignorant?
