Do you think that Armaggeddon is "near" or many, many years away?

In the year 2525, if Jehovah's Witnesses still survive, they'll still be controlling people with fear that the big A is just around the corner and they'll have some new wacko intepretation of the generation prophecy to support themselves with. But for the rest of us, makes you wonder how true the lyrics to the old Zager and Evans song will prove to be. I just hope they aren't serving Soylent Green (1973).
In the Year 2525 -
Zager and Evans
ARTIST: Zager and Evans
TITLE: In the Year 2525
In the year 2525
If man is still alive.
If woman can survive, they may find.
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies.
Everything you think, do and say, is in the pill you took today.
In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes.
You won't find a thing to chew.
Nobody's gonna look at you.
In the year 5555
Your arms hanging limp at your sides.
Your legs got nothing to do.
Some machine doing that for you.
In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife.
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too.
From the bottom of a long glass tube. Whoa-oh
In the year 7510
If God's a-comin, he oughta make it by then.
Maybe he'll look around himself and say.
Guess it's time for the judgment day.
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head.
He'll either say.I'm pleased where man has been.
Or tear it down and start again. Whoa-oh
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin if man is gonna be alive.
He's taken everything this old Earth can give.
And he ain't put back nothing.Whoa-oh
Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears.
For what he never knew,
now man's reign is through.
But through eternal night.
The twinkling of starlight.
So very far away.
Maybe it's only yesterday.
In the year 2525
If man is still alive.
If woman can survive, they may find.

My mom is 80 yrs. old, has been a witness since she was 16. Has been looking for Armageddon to come all these years. She and I have finally decided not to look for it anymore. Too bad that we wasted so many years paralyzed by it being right around the corner, in the next few hours, in the next few minutes, etc. No one knows the answer to your question. It is one word in one book.
LIVE your life.

This is a subject I bring up from time to time and that is the "Die Off" that some are saying will happen in the very near future (less than 25 years). Google the subject of PEAK OIL and listen to the dire situation many knowledgeable people say faces mankind soon because of the world's oil fields peaking in production. The "Die Off" is a fast reduction in the world's population from 6B to 600M due to the resulting food shortages. This Peak Oil thing isn’t a joke, it's real and no one can escape it.

I heard that same peak oil argument in the seventies with the last oil shortage. I trust in mankind's endless inventiveness in the event of shortage.
Similar shortages were predicted for steel, copper, all kinds of precious metals. After all, we have a limited supply and a steadily increasing, consuming population. Instead we got much better at recycling and reducing what we need. Consider the total components on a single circuit board. Wiring is reaching the atomic level of fineness.
As prices rise, we will demand transportation and heating systems that expends less fuel. We'll do it. You just wait and see.

Yep it is almost here
Take note of these 2 also:
The church father Cyprian of the third century"
"That wars continue to prevail, that death and famine accumulate anxiety, that health is shattered by raging diseases, that the human race is wasted by the desolation of pestilence, know that this was foretold; that evils should be multiplied in the last times, and that misfortunes should be varied; and that the day of judgment is now drawing nigh." (Cyprian, Treatise 5, "An Address to Demetrianus.")
In the sixth century, Pope Gregory the Great said:
"Of all the signs described by our Lord as presaging the end of the world some we see already accomplished.... For we now see that nation arises against nation and that they press and weigh upon the land in our own times as never before in the annals of the past. Earthquakes overwhelm countless cities, as we often hear from other parts of the world. Pestilence we endure without interruption." (quoted in His Appearing and His Kingdom, by T. Francis Glasson, M.A., D.D., The Epworth Press, -

There is/will be no such thing as "Armageddon".

I have no idea when it may come. So I can't spend my life worrying about it. Simple as that.
