I can't help but wonder if there was any truth to the WTBTS accusations against the RC church .Was there ever any proof that the RC church used mafia violence and threats against them ?

I learned a few years ago, that anything the JWs taught me, I had to at least consider what they said was false. They told me that worldy people were hateful and selfish. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that once I lived on my own out in the world, I would become a slut, drug addict, and would live a lousy life. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that God was angry with me and wanted nothing to do with me. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that worldly churches were only interested in your money. I found the opposite to be true.

Looking back, my disfellowshipping was truly a blessing in disguise. I now know TRUTH because of it. And the JWs do NOT have it.

It must be wordly. Hey a church that actually does something youth orientated must be wordly! Let alone making those things fun... Shock horror!

I am utterly disgusted with this friendship with each other!

The Protestants and Catholics are suppose to be worse enemies! Why in God's world did the Protestants have their own reformation and now they can't stop hugging each other!

Protestant comes from the word "protest," and by these sort of actions, they are going against the original reasons why they adapted their own separate theology in the first place!

What's the point of having Protestant and Catholic? If it doesn't matter what church you go to -- why have any at all? It defeats it's purpose!

You wouldn't tell your customers and McDonald's "Oh it's ok if you go the Hungry Jacks," they are the bloody competition! :(

Protestands are as weak as dishwater these days! I see them with big Catholic crosses and Apocrypha in their Bibles and a former leader of the Anglican church (Mark Jensen -- I think his name was) went to the Vatican and said "I'm going to the head office," It's like as if they are still apart of the Catholic Church! It's so sad!

May as well be pagan -- It doesn't matter, does it?

My references to attending and preaching in etc related to protestant churches.

You will find that there's not so much difference between them in teachings - more a matter of form rather than substance. The differences with the catholic church remain but not in an 'us and them' way,

Why would it, the religion is christian. The anglicans are not a religion, nor are the baptists, nor the presbyterians, nor.......etc etc, they are simply denominations of christian fellowship. There's a mighty big difference between them calling themselves denominations and others mistakenly referring to them as different religions..

As it is, my friends call themselves christians who are presently attending an anglican church.

Maybe because not everyone likes vanilla? I love the fact that there are millions of people in this world that can find whatever flavor of worship works for them. Would you rather stick it in one pot and MAKE everyone partake of the same thing? I don't think it defeats the purpose at all.

I can understand why billygoat is cautious on what to believe from the WTBTS but I do know that even today some churches are still practicing violence toward them and each other . The orthodox church of georgia for instance has been mentioned in the WT publications as being very distructive by destroying church property and beating people . You think the witnesses are bad ,these other religions are far worse given the opportunity . At least the witnesses do not try to influence the political parties into persecuting and denying the rights of existence to others . I read some stuff like in canada that the RC church was really desperate to shut down the j-dubs during WW2 .

Yesterday I saw something I've never seen before. A Protestant church on the left side of the road has a sign saying it's their 50th anniversary. There is a RC church right across the street. They have an even bigger sign saying something like, "Happy Anniversary (Church A), it's a pleasure to be your neighbor".

Reminds me of a scripture that the JW's never talk about, where, in a nutshell, Jesus tells his disciples, If you are not against me, then you are for me.

Doesn't matter what religion, as long as you live as you should.
