The vast majority here have been jws in the past. However, now they might be anything, or nothing.

    what is IMO and JWD?

IMO is In My Opinion. JWD is Jehovahs-Witness Discussion, or, www.jehovahs-witness.com

I am a regular Christian married to a JW.

Just curious, do you have a favorite sports team? Is it the only right one?

    Hey Had,

    Welcome!

My take on your last question: There is no "truth" for religion. If God really cared about truth, he'd've made it clear. It's just not possible to derive truth from the Bible, since it's all a matter of which verses you take literally and which ones you "explain".

I don't think most Christian churches teach that their particular flavor is "truth" and all others are simply lost in falsehood. It's the JW's that sold us all on the idea that there was One True Religion. Don't take them at their word on that.

IMO is "in my opinion" and JWD is this board.

keep searching but do so skeptically. you'll soon find jws aren't that different from a lot of other religions and apart from the watchtower publications the average witness is a lot more worldly than they were 20 years ago. question everything and everyone, that's my best advice. the jw religion and paraphenalia is riddled with errors and deception. just make sure you don't end up falling for every anti-jw argument you find out there.

when you're ready, you can apply the same level of skepticism to christianity. and try to be cheerful about it. religion is a terrible thing to waste a mind on.

well then what is right? i thought that the JW had it the closest....i dont see how anybody can agree with a trinity, or how mormons agree with a segregated heaven, nor can i give credit to religions that support either side during a war.

If you are looking for someone to tell you what is right, pick a religion. Nearly every one of them will tell you what is right. As soon as you asked the question you started narrowing the field. But you already had eliminated the JWs because they have men set up as spiritual authorities over other men (did I sum that up correctly).

It seems to me you already know they aren't right and you are looking not only for validation of that belief but also for another religion that is the right one. Ask yourself this question: During the Great Apostasy, which religion was right? Once you have answered that, start your journey to the right religion.

Feel free to send me a Private Message (PM) if you would like to discuss it further. The system for that is in the upper left hand corner. I will send you a sample PM.

You come on this board and asks "which is the right religion"?! How are we supposed to know? There`s no "full package" when it comes to these things. I can`t think of a single christian group (or other) that has the perfect interpretation of the Bible. I personally am unsure about the trinity-doctrine of the church, but this doctrine is definitely not as "dumb" as those ignorant, moronic JWs claim it is. On the other hand, JWs are wrong about everything else. Just read the Bible closely, get secondary litterature on it, if you don`t at least read a net-bible, because they have a lot of footnotes, much more than other bibles (www.bible.com is a good place to start, pick the one called "Net bible"), and for Gods sake, if your Bible is a NWT, throw it away immediately. The JWs are wrong about so much, it`s hard to know where to start. If I were to believe the Bible, as a christian, this would, in my opinion, be the best interpretation of it: Jesus is NOT Michael the archangel, he is "the word", the blood is NOT the soul, there IS a soul, the souls of the dead are ressurected immediately after death, they are with God and/or Jesus in another sphere, and there might be an earthly ressurection too, but that`s uncertain. Now, this is just my OPINION! Don`t take my word for it, and don`t take the word of the others here either. You have to investigate these things yourself, not just gamble on someone else having "the Truth", whatever that is.

up untill what you guys have just posted, i thought JW were the only ones besides jews who used Gods name

You are misinformed. Jews don`t use Gods name. They believe in the god named YHWH, yes, but they don`t say the name out loud. I don`t think they even write it. And when a jew writes "god", he spells it "g-d". They are a very superstitious people (the religious ones, that is).
