Before my disappearance, I was asked to keep up the hours as they were considering me for of all things a ministerial servant. Told them no thanks, I have no wish to be one again, and wouldn't accept it if it was offered. I also told them several weeks later if i wanted to run the sound (music supposedly) and hand out the microphones, I again told them no I wont do that, I didnt come here to work, or to be worked and you pay isn't very good, and all I will be told is that I am not doing enough for God. So no. Microphones I told them was a joke, you have 12 year old boys handing them out here, how could that possibly be a privilege?

I told the elder asking (my book study((thats a laugh)) conductor), that when you guys start calling certain things privileges, it means you want someone to do a lot of free work, and I won't work for free for anyone nomore, so NO THANKS, I think he finally got the message.

Few men does not equal no Borg. For years, the WTS had congregations made up of only women. They did the administrative work the men do now. I have attended small, rural congregations where women did the accounts, "moderated" a book study, did sound and stage, magazines, literature, territory, took attendance, said prayer with a headcovering, read the WT material at the WT study, did the audit, did the time report. They set up the school schedule, wrote out and distributed the slips, timed the school talks, etc..

The only thing they couldn't do was conduct a judicial hearing, had to import men for that,

It is just that many elders today feel they are "lowering" themselves to do these things.

No brothers to do these things = the elders aren't doing their job well

i did a lot when i was still active. whenever someone was not there, i did his job. i did the literature, the sound, the mikes, the counting, the old-sister-driving, the snow-cleaning, and occasionally our local elders even invented new jobs like guarding the parking lot or helping the old people out of their coats.

those *privileges* were removed from me because i showed a rebellious attitude (i was being sincere and honest to the elders and told them how i really felt about some stuff - bad for a JW carreer).

now that many others my age have slowed down too, are always late and thus not available for those great priviledges, the children, the (few) "morning dew"-youth and the idiots have to do the work. bad thing is those children really view this as a priviledge.

This is probably why, in this summers DC, there was a talk about the brothers reaching out, it sounded really desperate, my husband and smiled at each other, because we both see this happening more and more, when you have a job, a family to raise, who in their right mind see's holding a microphone in a meeting as a priviledge? oh, wait, there are brainwashed people who think this way, I forgot.

Yes the young ones are all leaving, and I will be there to envite them over when their parents shun them, maybe I can enlighten them about the cult, so they don't have to live with the guilt that they are disobeying God's organization.

IC (of the GB should hold the mic's class)

    and so it begins......

Ha ha the mikes! I used to love doing them, i'd dress inapropriately Blazer and Chinos or something, and strut my stuff like a peacock, winking at teh sisters as i passed the mike suggestively to them, man i used to crack up, privlege? more like a laugh, i remember one lad, who was a bit of a gimp, got told off from the platform cos he was reading a comic! I think it was Transformers or something, either that or a Lego catalogue!

Buffalosrfree---You crack me up! The elders must've been astonished that you figured it out.
