They can't be destroyed. I think if Jesus was to come down from heaven right now and tell JW's to STOP LISTENING TO THE SOCIETY, STOP GOING TO THE MEETINGS, I DON'T NEED YOUR FREAKIN 10 HOURS PER MONTH! They'd just blink really fast and open up the latest issue of the WT magazine and proceed with this month's suggested presentation.

    stillAwitnesses, lol funny.

there's gotta be a way to sue this organization to bankruptcy. but then, if that happens, they can make JWs pay tithes and start all over again.

Auldsoul is the only one with the correct answer. The Internet began a REVOLUTION that will ultimately result in a systemic transformation of the Organization. Jehovah's Witnesses as we know and love will be very different in the near future. The 20th century publishing-house paradigm is already shifting and a new, more organic one will take its place within the next two or three decades.

i agree with gerard on this one.... follow the money. after all this is nothing more than a publishing/marketing company posing as god. not to suggest that they are not also a destructive cult, but at the top it is about pushing paper for pockets. so in following the money one quickly realizes there is a very big pile of money. following further one comes to what is done with the money... exposing these truths would go along way to opening the eyes of alot of jw's to the real truth. someone else mentioned the internet and the revolution of information this presents all of us with. all of us except those that are slowly being governed to avoid and ignore it. the church of scientology currently supplies its members software to filter anything contrary to their own doctrine. can the gb be that far behind? does anyone know if the filter software is already being used among the jw rank and file?

It should eventually self-destruct because it goes against the very laws of the Universe. Look closely and you'll see that everything has been designed to work as a whole, from an atom to a cell to our bodies to the human race and beyond. Anything that seeks to be seperate from the whole becomes a cancer that consumes itself. Experts knew this about Communism and predicted that if you could just contain it, it would "eat" itself, just what happened. By taking Jesus words to be apart from the world literally (indeed they know no other way) they're making themselves a cancer on the face of humanity.

It is already dead, the adherents just don't know yet. The Internet killed it. As soon as those who are hanging on for family find out that many members of their family are doing the same thing, it folds like a house of cards in a hurricane. Already money is drying up, already seats are empty at meetings, already the elders know many are dummying-up their field service reports.

Jehovah's Witnesses cannot survive the truth about themselves, the Internet is the vehicle that allows everyone to rip off the illusion of Godliness. In every country where the Internet becomes widely available, the numbers start to crawl. It is no coincidence and the top dogs know it spells their organization's untimely end.

No ideas. I eagerly jumped onto this post ready to join your movement with all vigor. I thought you had a Plan. *sigh*

    Oh well.

Just give it time. It may take fifty or one hundred years, but it will eventually become one more church in christendom.

    Stiff upper lip!

i'll check out the links. but i think the WT is stronger and more careful than the WCOG.

You asked for examples on how to help the WT along to it's ignimonious sunset. One sure way is to follow the WCOG pattern. If they own up to their mistakes and they risk losing a significant fraction of their congregation. I think the WTBS considered this option, and discarded it. For that alone I hold the leadership in contempt, since they have taken the coward's way.

OR they can pretend all is fine, cook the numbers, beat on the discouraged sheep, and POW one day the barn will be empty. Or SIGH the barn will be empty.

As AuldSaul has handily pointed out, they have already passed the point of no return. The information highway is bulldozing their deceit. I also think their choice to go tougher has further alienated them from the front line workers. The tough stance will only bolster the numbers in the short term. In the long term, good people leave. Quietly.

LOL! Probably. From the 2003 District Convention, a portion of a transcript of the "Beware the Voice of Strangers" talk. I couldn't believe my ears...

[23:23] So friends, hypothetically, and I repeat, hypothetically, even if an angel were to come down here and land on this platform, today, at this moment, and to present something to us that didn't fit into the pattern of truth, what should we be ready to do? We should be ready to say, " Hold on there, that doesn't fit into the pattern, and I am not going to listen to it!" Yes, even if it were one of Jehovah's angels.
