Hey toer... do you need me to edit your posts for you? I thought the "Theocratic Ministry School" was supposed to be the equivalent of a "college education" and give everyone who attends "excellent speaking and communication skills?"

But that's okay, I'm just kidding around with you, toer. I think that you should definitely stick around and read what some of the people on this board have to say, and keep an open mind, and most of all, THINK FOR YOURSELF. Also, you should check out freeminds.org and read some of the information and stories there.

I wouldn't call it hate, maybe mistrust and resentment, and not to JWs as individual but directed toward the Governing Body and all their twisted teachings and flip-floping.

Now if you really want an answer to your question, imagine if (God forbid) you lost a loved one for not getting a transplant because they followed what the Governing Body dictated at the time. Ask yourself what would you have thought when they changed that to a matter of conscience a few years later. That is something that happened to a lot of 'brothers' and 'sisters', with no explanation or apology from the Society. But you say that they never hurt anybody. THAT, my friend is blood on the Watchtower's hands for going beyond of what is written in the Bible. It is also a gross lack of love coming from 'Jehovah's Organization'.

    Toer,
Let's just get this over with eh? We see this all the time.
JW stumbles across this site and somewhat naively assumes that all the people are "bitter and filled with hate".
Ex-JW's show how families are ripped apart, mistruths are spread in WT literature, and blunders in their past show this is nothing but a manmade religion.
JW believes none of it and assumes a persecution complex.
Ex-JW's present evidence and demand an answer.

    DECISION TIME

The JW is now confronted with something they probably never knew and now asked to answer for it. All their conditioning teaches them to repel any attacks on their precious publishing company.

Now the JW must either automatically defend Brooklyn, or investigate and learn more.

    What will you do Toer?

Well to save you the suspense, I can likely tell you what you will do. You will say "God always had an organization" to defend the Watchtower Society's authority, yet when obviously human mistakes are presented you will then revert to a "imperfect humans make mistakes" defense. You will use this defense to defend teachings that have resulted in numerous deaths and abuses around the world. You may even feel good about Watchtower's belief that 6 Billion human beings deserve death for not believing this doomsday religion. Eventually you will see that there is no logical defense for these and eventually leave dejected.
Blah Blah Blah. Surpise me please.

Hi Toer, (I put this on your other thread by mistake, sorry)

I just want to say that I appreciate your concern for the people on this board.

It is obvious you are sincere and believe Jehovah's Witnesses are the organization Jehovah is using at this time.

I must say I agree with much of what you say.

However I do have one little problem and you may be able to help me.

If the organization is "Spirit directed", which means Jehovah's Holy Spirit is actually directing it, why has it had

to change it's teachings on over 30 doctrines.

I would have thought that Jehovah's spirit would have been able to get it right first time.

So has Jehovah's spirit made mistakes?

Unfortunately we only have two options:

        1. We should obey the organization because it IS guided and directed by Jehovah's Holy Spirit, but unfortunately the Holy Spirit makes mistakes. or

        2. We should obey only Jehovah and what He says in the Bible, because the organization has made many mistakes so could not be guided by Jehovah's Holy spirit [which does not make mistakes], and they are rather naughty to claim such a thing.

they love there neighbors they treat others well

This is contrary to my experience and observation

        Why the hatred ?

        • People don't like to be had
        • People especially don't like to be had by those who act nice to do it
        • People really don't like to be had by those who act nice and are hypocrites
        • People enjoy freedom and the autonomy that comes with decisions about matters of importance in their lives - accordingly they are upset by misinformation that is deceptively delivered in that process
        • To realise that one has harmed people, even their own family member, as a result of foolishness entered when believing another's lies is a very frustrating thing
        • People like level playing fields - for one person's lie to be someone else's "old light" doesn't sit well in an intelligent society

Indeed, I think I could write a book about 'why'

I know jw dont judge people , and the society doesnt judge anyone

Oh for crissakes......what planet are you from? The entire "Good News" that the Witnesses preach door to door is filled with self-righteous judgement. They teach that anyone who's not a baptized Witness and attending 5 meetings a week and filling out a Field Service report every month is going to die at Armageddon.

        because i'm one

Ya, well here's a newsflash for you Sherlock: we were all one too at one time......you think we don't know what they teach?

nor it tells people if you dont do something your going to hell.

No, they just tell you that you're going to die and the birds are going to come and eat your flesh as you lay there on the road. And any relatives you have that are Witnesses will never see you again in a trillion years because you'll be dead. Geeze, what a wonderful hope!

They dont scare people they respect others.

Riiight. That's why you can't stand up for your National Athem to show respect for your country, that's why you're not allowed to celebrate Mothers Day or Fathers Day; to show respect to your parents. That's why they disfellowship anyone who doesn't believe all their wacky teachings; because they respect others. And elephants fly.

Why not the catholic church or others religions?

I agree. JWs are just another religion, subject to criticism.

I dont understand that how a religion that douesn't go to war, don't buy guns,

There are other religions that also don't go to war. Many JWs do buy guns though. Also, Jehovah's chosen organization in the Old Testament were one of the bloodiest, warmongering groups ever.

they preach for free they dont get paid,

Nothing in the scriptures identifies the true religion as a group with people that doesn't get paid. Besides, the Jews tithed. Additionally, many of the apostles/disciples were taken care of by the congregation. You don't think this also involved financial help?

        there not rasist,

That's what they claim, but I have heard some of the worst racist comments from JWs. Just listen to the white guys that run the sound department complain about how awful the Spanish brothers are with the sound equipment.

they love there neighbors they treat others well,

If you mean ignore them unless there is an opportunity to give a "Witness", then I guess you are right.

Why so much hate, if they go strictly by what the bible says.

They go by what the New World Translation says ... which is a badly hacked version of the bible ... with changes made that (coincidentally) parallel their made-up theology.

Yes there has been thing that maybe you have seen in the congregacion that they were not right but there inperfect. I dont know. But I think that people should'nt judge others so harshly

I agree. They are sincere, but imperfect and make mistakes. But so are the other religions. So why should God only allow the JWs to be forgiven and not the others? The society says we should stick with the Watchtower even if they do make mistakes and are wrong about some things. But ... if there was an original organization that made mistakes, it would have to be the Catholic Church . . . according to the JWs own reasoning we should all be Catholics.

I know jw dont judge people because i'm one, and the society doesnt judge anyone nor it tells people if you dont do something your going to hell.

Bull crap. They do judge. Instead of saying "your going to hell" they say, "you'll get burned up in a fireball at Armageddon". Not much difference in my opinion.

They dont scare people they respect others.

Not true. I grew up my whole childhood scared to death of Armageddon. Anytime I wanted to do something outside of what was allowed in the congregation my mom would say, "You're making Jehovah unhappy. Do you want to die at Armageddon? DO YOU?" Seems like a scare tactic to me.

Yes clearly there are things that the bible states that they are wrong. There principles they cant be changed. Jehovah has put those principles not us, JW guide and imitate jesus preaching.

According to the scriptures you brag about, Jesus and the disciples primarily preached in the public places, not door-to-door. They only went door-to-door after they found interested people in the public markets and synagogues. They also went door-to-door to obtain lodging - not preaching.

Please let me know what lies they spread?
        1. That Jesus returned invisibly in 1914.
        2. That we are in the last days.
        3. That Jehovah was removed from the Greek scriptures.
        4. That Jesus is just a powerful angel - and not much else.
        5. That Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BC.
        6. That the scriptures teach two hopes - earthly and heavenly.
        7. plenty more upon request.
Please let me know how an organization that wants to help people is bad?

The mormons want to help people.

7th Day ADventists want to help people.

        Catholics want to help people.

The Red Cross wants to help people.

How does "helping" people make them legit?

That unlike any other church ministers dont get payed?

Not all church ministers get paid. Do your homework. And passing a "plate" does not mean that a religion is wrong. Show me where the scriptures say such a thing.

Tell why evreything Jw saw is based on the bible not the new testiment any bible.

Again, they go by what the New World Translation says ... which is a badly hacked version of the bible ... with changes made that (coincidentally) parallel their made-up theology.

Tell me how an organization that believes in peace and in a paradise is spreading lies.
        1. JWs aren't the only religion that believe in peace. Do you REALLY think that?
        2. the bible does not teach a earthly paradise
Rev 21:4 states that there will soon be no more death, nor sicknesses, nor pain.

Correct, but it doesn't say anything about earth. Read the scripture again ... this time in context.

In a world that there is so much pain and suffering and so many people kill them selfs, and so many murders occur wouldn't you think the armagedon will come?

These things have always happened. There are several books that detail crime rates and how lousy life was before 1914. We have it GREAT compared to back then.

Or are we all living a normal life and then when we die we will go to heaven? What happens to our planet.

This is the big mystery. This is the hardest thing for JWs to come to grips with - that there aren't concrete answers for everything. If you believe the bible then - yes - I believe the bible teaches that EVERYONE has a heavenly hope.

please help me understand where the hate is coming from?

It comes from people like you sticking up for a religion that you don't know the facts about.

        ===============================================

If you want to wave accusations about you probably will never find out the truth about "the Truth". However, if you post topics in a kind and sincere manner - maybe one at a time - people on here will be GLAD to help. Just don't insinuate that we are all bitter and angry.

I used to be a JW. I am no longer a JW. I worship Jesus just as His followers in the Bible did. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society calls me an apostate because they would not let me worship Jesus so I left the religion. They also say I am not going to be resurrected when I die because I worship Jesus and left the religion. Now you come along and tell me they don't judge people. When did their policies about people who leave them change? When did their policies about people who worship Jesus change?

I guess that what Jesus said is true that this hate towards Jehovah's organization would occur.

How do you know the Watchtower organization is Jehovah's organizations and not the Mormons or the Moonies?
