What are your favorite notable Bible passages, why and how does it affect your life?

I have a few such as; "For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing he is dececiving his own mind." Gal.6:10

"Also from presumptuous acts hold your servant back; do not let them dominate me. In that case I shall be complete, and I shall have remained innocent from much transgression." Ps.19:13

Romans chapter twelve begining with verse nine to twenty one.

The reason I chose these texts is because I deal with people on a daily basis both in business and in social life. It's all about attitude

    Care to share yours?

I also like this scripture Mark chapter 7 21-23 It explains about the evil thoughts leading to actions, another problem I have....

Oh and this one cracks me up Mathew chapter 19:12 some boys can really get on my nerves I'm sure a good kick in the..... would take care of them

Thanks for responding Evanescence. That Hebrews twelve begining with verse twelve to 15 is interesting. Verse fourteen; "Purse peace with all people..."

    John 16:13

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

A greeting said loudly in the morning will be taken as a curse. As a native morning person, I've always related to that thought.

I may be inviting the wrath of Bob for posting in a thread that was clearly marked "No Dave's Allowed", but... I've gotten alot of use out of this one:

    Proverbs 18:13 (New International Version)
13 He who answers before listening that is his folly and his shame.

Good answer Dave!!! I guess I can't post here either because about four years ago I started truely studying the Bible with an open mind.

So I love your quote. I hope all will open the interenet and look at the bible with an open mind. Looking at all the proof, not just the proof that makes their heart feel good that can mislead you.

(1 John 4:1) 4 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

This scripture reassured me that there was nothing wrong with examining the WT teachings in light of the scripture basis they claimed. If John said every "inspired" expression should be scrutinized, how more so the statements the WTS makes that they say are not inspired.

It led me to the many false prophecies the WTS has made with 1874/1914 and 1925, something the WTS hid from the rank and file in obsolete, out of print WT publications.

    Philip. 3:14, 15

“… But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead,

I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.”
