Mum started dragging us to meetings age 3. Its all I remember so I guess I still qualify to respond to this topic...
Age 21 I moved out. Having planned it for 3 years and finally been allowed to move. I moved to the other side of town about 1/2 hour drive. I lived there for about 4 years then had enough. I decided to up and leave and drove 13 hours north with all my belongings in my car. After a series of events I was running away from my JW family but not from the JW's. I set up home for a couple of years there and came back to where I grew up again 2 years later because I was needed by my sister and a good friend. I still stayed on the other side of town from my parents though.
I no longer attend meetings or anything. I don't have any plans to move. I'm pretty much left to my own devices which I am happy about.
I live about 35 miles from where I grew up, and I don't think I've ever lived more than 60 miles from there...but there's still hope, right??? I so don't want to live around here the rest of my life.

Born in hated it. Left home at 17 stayed in the same town. But at the ripe old age of 27 I won first prize in a raffle, not a huge one but more than enough for a house deposit. So with in two weeks of winning I hit London. Traveled on and off through Europe and Africa for the next two years. Total lenght of stay in another hemisphere 7 Years. I married over there (no crap at my wedding) but to a New Zealander who loves my home town so thats where we are now.
I grew up in NE Portland, OR. I got married (in 1975 at 18-1/2) and moved to Vancouver, WA. I left regular attendance by the following summer. I couldn't stand them and they shunned me!
I moved to Portland 10 years later, then a year after to Seattle for 11 years, then back to Portland 8 1/2 years ago. Haven't looked back at JWism since moving back in w/ my parents briefly after leaving my 1st "good JW" husband.
I'm about 2000miles from where I was raised as a dub, headed about as far South as I could:) Have lived in a stack of places though, including directly on the other side of the planet. Best thing I could have done was to get away and completley refresh:) x
I was born and raised where I live now. But I had lived in several different states including, North Dakota, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico. I moved back here to be near my family again and then they all picked up and moved away to Washington.
I live just 20 miles away from where I grew up. I left the borg before I moved, and I made sure everyone knew where I stood. I got tired of being hassled.
I live about 50 miles from where I grew up. Close enough to go back and visit (if I wanted), but far enough away not to run into any JW I know. My parents are about 50 miles from me in another direction, but that could be the end of the earth for them -- they don't "lower" themselves to be in my presence.

I live about 500 miles away from where I grew up. I moved because I love the area. To get away from the witness stuff is just an additional blessing.
