There was a sister in my old hall who breast fed her kid which was 5 or 6...THAT I have a problem with!
You'd be surprised how normal that is considered in some societies.

If I ever see that again...5-7 year old's being breast fed.....They are going to hear it from me!
Perhaps the police are in the know of some sickos out there who go ape and nuts in the presence of a breast-feeding woman!
This reminds me of my experience in service in the early 70s!
A young man and I were paired for service on a Saturday morning...1972.
I remember it vividly. We approached a tall old Victorian house that had been turned into a multiple apt. dwelling and hippie types were occupying.
A lovely young woman of 20 was sitting outside in her side yard bare topped breast feeding her young one.
She was very sweet and welcoming and it was the brother's turn to witness.
Of course he chose his LONG PRESENTATION for the occasion!
It was the 70's, what can I say!
I will never forget it!!!! (tee hee hee!)
Legolas, my mom was one that thought breastfeeding for a long time was a good thing. I was 16 when she had my youngest brother. She breastfed him until he was almost three. I taught him to say "Titty Mama" when he wanted fed. When he did that in the grocery store she quit doing it.
I think breastfeeding is a great thing, don't get me wrong, but my mom wanted to keep my youngest brother a baby forever, and that's not just a guess (my mom was something else). So I guess when my griping about it didn't work I got passive aggressive!

You love the taste of breastmilk, do ya?
OMG my hubby does!

LMAO....
I think 2-3 is ok...but NOT 5-7 or even older.
To me it is not ONLY SICK looking, but I think it also looks like abuse!

Why? I read once that the worldwide average age for breastfeeding is 5.2 years. Why is this abuse? Why must we sexualize something that should have nothing to do with sex? Seems awfully silly to me.
John Doe...That is just my opinion!
I think it is SICK!
I have to chime in on this.
I was breastfeeding my first son at the New England Aquarium and the security guards came up to me and said that no food or drink was allowed in the aquarium.
I said, well if you can find a way to unattatch my breasts then I'll gladly take them off. He was very adament about the fact that no food or drink was allowed and was trying to make our family leave for not following rules. The head person came and our trip that day was free.
I also had a waitress suggest to me that I breastfeed our second son in the restroom at the Cheesecake Factory because some patrons were offended. I made a huge stink and said "Why would I want to feed my child where someone is sh*tting." The manager came and gave us our meal free and a $50 gift certificate...and nobody could see what our little one was doing because the tables are so high and I am so short...all they saw were some feet happily kicking!
I have had people come up to me while breastfeeding both of my children and they congratulated me on doing the right thing for my baby. I've also had teenage boys make comments that are very immature but funny...."some kids get all the luck" etc etc.
I am not super discreet and also not super open. I usually use my hand and part of my shirt to cover my breast because son # 2 doesn't like anything on his head.
AND...
We also had a lady at our KH who was breastfeeding her 6 year old. The little girl would come up and lift up her mom's shirt right in the middle of the KH. It completely grossed me out....we aren't in Africa where children are starving, so I see no need for breastfeeding a 6 year old!

Breast feeding is a natural part of life.
I remember reading of a university lecturer who was disciplined because he objected to a woman student breastfeeding in his seminars.
What would have happened if he had urinated openly into a potty in his seminars? (its only natural)

Sometimes I wonder what human breastmilk cheese would taste like.
