So she should have been too....

... I mean, if she hadn't got enough to share around, that's just teasing those less fortunate!

    BITTY !!!!

btw, Little Britain have dropped those characters - apparently it no longer has the 'shock value' it was meant to have. Personally, I thought the character was hilarious - but I've still got a schoolboy sense of humour !!

On a more serious note - it just goes to show how far out of skew modern views of morality have become. What could possibly be offensive about a woman breast feeding in public ??? It really does beggar belief. That copper should've arrested the twat that reported her, for being a peeping tom - I'm sure she didn't announce "I'm gonna get my tits out now, all perverts in the area come here for a quick oggle!"

I hate this country sometimes *sigh*

    Bull!

When Kate and I have kids, I pity anyone who does this. They will have two new orifices after we'd finished with them.

Babies are babies. Adults can learn to act like adults. Babies can only act like babies.

Any adult who would deny a baby food when it is hungry, or have it eat outside, in the toilet, or whatever, is the one with the attitude problem, not the mother.

O, Victoria, trussed up with prim care,

will you ever relent your stern stare?

    Babies cannot but eat

    from their Mum's healthful teat,

still they're suff'ring 'neath your hateful glare.

I think it is ridiculous that our sensibilities about normal human needs are still so warped by Victorian era mindsets.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who was fired from his job because of sexual harrassment - Here's the harrassment: A woman co-worker overheard him having a conversation with another woman co-worker about the benefits of breastfeeding. Although the woman was not a part of the conversation, she was significantly disturbed by their conversation to report him and the corporation fired him. The good news - He sued them and got his job back with back pay. It took many months and lots of legal fees, but it was resolved.

How do you all feel about breastfeeding women who really don't care that people see their breast? I'm not just talking about a little peep inbetween the baby and the blanket. I'm talking about some women that bare all and don't give a flying fig that they're "letting it all hang out". Does that bother anyone? Because I've seen some women in restaurants with their shirt pulled down their shoulder and just letting their breast hang there for all to see. That DOES bother me. Yes, it's natural, but I also believe walking around nude is natural as well. That doesn't mean I want to see all your bits hanging about. I find nothing bothersome about a women discreetly covering herself at a restaurant while she nurses her child under a blanket. I find nothing bothersome about a baby that happens to pull the blanket off their head to see something. I have a hard time with women that nurse in the great wide open with their breast hanging out like a flagpole on a windless day.

    *shrug*

But then again, I have an issue with the little girls that wear thongs three inches above their waistline as well. I just don't want to see it.

Billygoat, you have a point. I don't think much of the people who make a verbal issue of complaining, but I also think common decency should make us be aware of other's sensitivities, whether we agree with them or not. So, yes, I don't think it's very nice for a woman to act as you say, but I don't think they should go to great lengths to hide it either. If both sides would be a little more considerate this entire issue would not exist. Basically, a person has no right to complain or get offended by public breast feeding, but a woman openly flaunting her breasts, no matter how stupid or irrational the taboo is, isn't a very nice person either.

    John Doe,

I don't think much of the people who make a verbal issue of complaining, but I also think common decency should make us be aware of other's sensitivities, whether we agree with them or not.

That's exactly my point. While yes, I believe that it's more appropriate for a women to nurse her child at the dinner table than in the bathroom, I'm not forced to watch her in the bathroom. At a restaurant, if I'm sitting across the aisle while she has her boob hanging out (again, I'm not talking about being discreetly covered or the baby pulling the blanket on occasion), I am stuck. I have no choice but to sit and eat while seeing her breast. As beautiful as my husband's naked body is, I don't necessarily want him to come to the table shirtless either.

Again, I have no issue with the situation unless the mother feels it's her RIGHT to plop her breast out for all to see. It's also MY right to have a nice meal without seeing a woman's boob across the aisle for a long length of time. I can't imagine EVER complaining about a nursing mother in public unless she is very obviously baring all without considering my feelings.

Should I be offended if a bottle or dummy (pacifier) happens to roll around on the table? I'm quite happy to see a little cleavage, and if one of them suckers pops right out, I have no problem with that.

Am I the only one not to be offended to see natural food dispensers swinging in the breeze?
