Are JW's closer to their creator than other religions?

Just before we began studying the "Draw Close" book I had a service meeting part about it in which I stated that it should be the goal of all of us to be truly closer to god by the time we're done. I had NO idea at the time the path I would take- leaving the cong. But I can say I'm so much closer now by ridding myself of the Witness version of god.

For me knowing my Creator is realizing that nothing about him/her/it is concrete and the same for everyone. I find a new and expanding idea about my Creator everyday by living. Read everything, laugh , dance, sing, cry, explore, challenge, seek and listen--God is everywhere!

Don't limit God to any person, religion or creed---don't limit god at all and enjoy the journey.

Kahlil Gibran " If you want to know God, get to know people."

Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" has profound insights to how he saw his Creator.

Neal Donald Walsh's " Conversation's With God" series presents great ideas as well.

Some Christian religions believe that God and Jesus are basically the same person and that you have Jesus as personal savior, so that's pretty darn close. Others teach that Jesus is the son of God, but he is still savior and the one true way to God, so still, that's pretty close.

On the other hand, non-annointed JWs(to say that is, most JWs) have other levels to go through before getting to the creator. The Faithful and Discreet Slave has replaced Jesus as mediator for the average JW and the F&DS uses the organization to keep JWs another step further out. So JWs are not and never have been as close to their creator as they believe or as close as other religions claim to be.

Believe me, there is no God, I have faith in that so it must be true.

Hm. Curious. I wonder if there has been much consideration of the possibility of a combined word form:

Could Yahh-Hovah be a combined word form for God's name? Has anyone studied out this possibility?

I've thought about this a lot also. The Bible says of Christians 'We walk by faith, not by sight.' JW's walk very much by sight. So you hear expressions like ' I don't want to get in trouble with the elders'.

So much is done for show that I think a relationship with God actually suffers. Even though the publications stress a relationship w/ Jehovah, in the practical outworking,as is the case so many times, that message is lost. So when a person leaves, & their relationship was with 'the organization' it's back to square one.
