I have prayed at least a million prayers in my life. I can't see that any were ever answered. I decided to test out that theory and not pray for a while...guess what? Nothing happened! I thought that I was closer to my creator than that.

that's what i mean swalker. you were close to your god. there was just nothing on the other side.
makes me think that even if there was a god, and he could tell that you wre praying to the wrong "version" and using the wrong "protocol", it still takes a cold, heartless bastard to sit there silently and let you learn all your lessons the hard way, when all he has to do is appear to you as he did to Ross. but no, that never happens. why? honestly think about it for a moment. it appears, quite convincingly, that he is not a cold heartless bastard, but rather that he doesn't exist.
the universe is cold and heartless, and that's why you heard nothing but silence.

TS-Ross made the statement in another thread that spirits/God/whatever is picky on who they talk to...if that is the case then why are we all supposed to keep trying to contact them? If millions of people were trying to contact you, it seems that, being in that position, you would tell them a)the line is down, b)don't call me, I'll call you, etc. Instead, all you get is silence. I really think that what a lot of people experience when praying is that it helps them organize their thought process (meditation will also) and they attribute a certain idea with prayer, when in actuality, they will come up with the same idea on their own anyway. Everyone can test out this idea! Go for it!!!
