ya, so instead of dying at 75 they die at 73.... come on man, lighten up a little. too much doctrine is sucky for the soul...

I have come off a bit preachy, which wasn't my intent. I do become rather vocal with my opinions at times. :-) I will say this, though, along fhn's statements. How much are those two years going to be worth to you when you become 72? ;-)

My manager, John aged 51 passed away last Saturday. 10 days before that, he found out that he had melanoma that had spread. The next day he had a major stroke. It turned out that he had tumors in his head and lungs.

Skin cancers are showing up in teens these days.

John, may you rest in peace. Godspeed to where ever it is you are going. The nicest boss I ever had.

You know, I'm 47 and hope to live a lot longer. I don't want breast implants or botox or face lifts, etc. Chemical peels or lazer to remove damaged skin is basically what I mean. You can also make the best of what you have with vitamins, good nutrition etc. You can age gracefully, you know?

Yeah, I don't have any real answers. I know that I personally wouldn't feel comfortable with plastic surgery, but I don't really know what other folk's motives are. I have my perceptions of what those motives are, but I may well be wrong.

If a person wants it they should get it!!! I would like to see Prince Charles and Camilla go to the dentist!!! My god, I wish they would spend some money on their teeth...

A person who embraces who they really are has more to be proud of than someone who buys a body thinking it changes anything important.

Everything we do is a reflection on what we value. Plastic surgery sends a very depressing message about what we value.

You sound just like the old guys up at the Watchtower. I value my opinion of myself, and I don't like my fat belly; so, if I can get it sucked off, I'm going to do it.

You try having twins (that weighed 12.4 lbs together *not to mention all of the other stuff that went with that*) and a 10.6 lb baby (both pregnancies by c-section) and then tell me what you think.

Yes, if it was free and not dangerous.

I think its important to feel OK about your body, I mean it a bit of a mental illness if you obsess about it and it makes you permanently miserable (especially if it is mostly OK).

Having said that I would definately have surgery as I got older, just to keep everything looking mosty pert for as long as possible. I have a good diet and a good skin, but eventually id like a bit of a face life, and a tummy tuck. I think I will go to Prague where its at least half the cost of in the UK.

I would let myself age eventually though (no choice really). I wouldnt get obsessive so that I looked like a chewed toffee like Sly Stalones mum. In any case I couldnt afford it.

Best example of surgery is Sharon Osborne in my opinion. Money well spent, shes transformed herself into a really attractive woman without looking obvious or ridiculous.

Definately. No way in hell I can afford it though.
