have you all done for spiritual fulfillment once you left? I still want to please God and live a good life. I still carry the guilt of not going to a meeting

Welcome friend... To answer your question! I kept on in prayer to GOD!!!! I now believe JWs are the False Prophets of Scripture - so I pray for all those enmeshed in the trap... Like I was for 25 years.
So you want to please GOD Well Guilt is the most destructive force in the world I BELIEVE!!!! I know I had it when they kicked me out.... So PLEASE stop the guilt trip.... I would suggest you take all this in prayer to the Creator of us ( In my opinion) JESUS the ONLY WAY! TRUTH! LIFE!!!
But remember you will hear others on board in the world at work, etc, etc, etc, tell you there is no GOD!!! I am the oldie on board 78 yrs I have learned by experience to THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!! & after prayer if that little voice inside YOU!!!! says dont ! DONT!!!! if it say DO! DO !!!!(HUG)

hi, in order for your picture to appear, you need to pray more and trust in Jehovah even if you don't fully understand things...

no seriously, check what you put in the profile was correct but other than that it can take a few mins to update.

    Welcome On The Fence,
Two ideas I had about the Witnesses people were hard for me to challenge. One was the adult Jehovah's Witness people are victims of victims . . . and number two was the Jehovah's Witness people are good people who let their children die. Today I believe neither of those ideas are true.
The Witness people lie, they manipulate, they aggravate, they connive and deceive, and they do it all with information and intent. If they weren't in the religion business, but if were in a business that requires honesty, disclosure, and ethics like real estate brokerage, they would be in prison for fraud and misrepresentation. I have interviewed hundreds of Witnesses and they all say they are not coerced into their behaviors and they all say they are not brainwashed. They do their deeds willingly with malice.
In my opinion, there are no good people on the planet who would let their child die by withholding medical treatment. That's the lowest thing a human can do. The Witness people are vile and mean and anyone who supports them is as guilty as the worst of them.

Hi Bryan, No, I don't have any family in the org. I haven't yet told my family that I no longer consider myself part of the org. I'm sure they would all be quite happy about that. That also makes it easier for me to leave. I was a convert not a 2nd or 3rd generation.

You've found a good place to ask questions and you'll find a lot of understanding because most of us have been in your shoes. :)

    Hi OntheFence,

    Welcome to the forum.

My experiences are somewhat similar. The few sisters in the cong. who have 'befriended' me also want to sell me stuff. I do think that because of all the activity people have limited time. Also, if one is marked, others tend not to want to socialize with that one. Years ago, in one cong. I was marked because I was single and wasn't a pioneer- I was "greedy and materialistic" because I worked full time instead.

Take your time as you pursue a spiritual path and try to enjoy the journey.
