Shortened by how much? It seems Adam paid a much higher price.

If perfection were tied to sin, it would seem that Satan should have been put out of his misery the moment he opened his mouth to say, "Hey, 'hovah, gimme your throne."

jgnat you know you are wrong so please quit trying to WIGGLE out. Talking to you is like riding a merry go round. Humilty is a quality God looks for in a person and it is something we need to develope.

If a finger is pointing at me, how many are pointing back at you?

If sin is attached to perfection, it seems that Satan would be the most imperfect of all. He should be dead ten billion times already.

There is a difference between sin and perfection. One is not tied to the other.

So then, Mr Defd, are you ready to humbly answer all the unanswered questions that have been posed by LT ? Jgnat? Mouthy? LL? Carla? and a host of others through the months you have graced us with your presence here?

Would not humility move us to at least make an effort to actually address issues in a discussion? I have not seen that often out of you. I am just being honest, not trying to be insulting here. Many very well thought out questions have been posed to you - I am not on the board every day, and yet I am aware of a dozen or more threads in the past two weeks in which you simply attack instead of address issues of doctrine.

Just curious as to why that is? I used to do that too as a witness - now I know why - there was no basis for most of what I asserted at the doors - hence no defense for same. Can you not admit that is the same problem you are having ? - you just keep repeating the same old tired mantra that you have been taught to repeat - but you really cannot defend it!

you are right you are not on everyday because if you ere youd see I DO address them. They just dont get it! Take for example this thread. When certain people are WRONG they bow out in there own way. The norm here is to talk in circles and when I see a person with a habit like that I just dont want to talk with them. As I said before Merry go rounds make me sick!

You didn't ever answer mine. If I bring those old threads up will you answer now? Or others that you did not answer?

    Jeff

http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/99831/1.ashx Wish I would bttt it now so you can do so. I will not talk in circles - promise. But if we reach the conclusions that a straight line takes us - will you accept it?

    Defd,

In this thread I (and others) have pointed out a number of things: (1) there is no significant semantic difference (i.e. difference of meaning) between lutron (ransom) and antilutron (corresponding ransom, by the NWT's overtranslation); (2) the "ransom" is never explained in the Bible as "corresponding" to "what Adam has lost" but as a "ransom for many" (Mark 10:45//Matthew 20:28) or "for all" (1 Timothy 2:6), without referring to Adam; (3) your interpretation of Genesis 2--3 involves a doctrinal "patchwork of prooftexts" foreign to Genesis 2--3.

Did you address those arguments? Can you do that now?

Here's the difference between a circle and a straight line.

    Perfection -----> Sinless

    That is a straight line.

    Sinless not equal to Perfection

    That is a straight line.

Satan --> Perfect Creation --> Sinned --> IMPERFECT! --> Retains powers and has thousands/Millions year lifespan --> Adam --> tricked by Satan --> EEK! IMPERFECT! --> Lifespan shortened to several hundred years --> descendants shortened lifespan due to SIN, IMPERFECTION --> Satan torments imperfect creation --> imperfect humans and FINALLY SATAN expire.

    That is a circle.

A perfectly innocent baby can die of an imperfection, such as cancer. Was her illness caused by her SIN? I imagine you would say ADAM's sin. An injustice, if looked at that way. She didn't get to pick her gr-gr-gr-gr....grandfather. If, on the other hand, imperfections such as cancer are viewed as TIME AND UNFORSEEN circumstance, rather than RESULT FOR SIN, we appropriately grieve over the tragedy of cancer, but don't go pointing fingers in blame. I might point out, too, that JOB'S COMFORTERS similarly insisted on ASSIGNING BLAME to Job's circumstance. They came up with lots of reasons, all of them false. For Job's comforters, they could not in their limited perspective, imagine why Job would suffer so OTHER THAN SIN. Only good things happen to good people, right?

And on goes the Jehovah's Witness treadmill. Earnest seekers-after-truth, constantly striving for ever more perfect meeting attendance and field service hours, victims of SATAN'S MINIONS and UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, slaving away for the prize of eternal life. When eternal life is a perfect gift, freely given.

Your dizziness is caused by your own cognitive dissonance, defd. I'm not the cause. I just poked your sore spot.

Nark and to everyone else this topic is closed to me now. The bible proves your assumptions wrong and there is no need to further discuss it. Have at it amoung yourselves. Im sure jgnat could talk on this all day long!
