Yes crazyguy, it said "the work (of witnessing) will be completed before the end of this 20 century then the end will come"

Cappytan: "I'm not getting rid of this until my wife is completely awake."

If you do decide to get rid of it I'm willing to accept it.

Unfortunately I have no audio recordings of it but I remember a talk in 1974 where Fred Franz, then vice president of the Watchtower, gave a talk explicitly stating that the end would happen within a few months or years after 1975.

There were many thousands in attendance at that talk.

    Ahh, Bill the '69 Awake!

"You will never grow old in this system."

    Ha-ha, what a classic!

    Say, that reminds me, Jack.

Do you remember our families talking of the '41 convention?

    Ahh, yes, the Children book.

Let's imitate Noah's sons, and wait until after Armageddon to have our own children.

After all, it is only a few years away.

Ha-ha, How can they keep this thing going?

I don't know. But as long as I don't get kicked out of Bethel at my age, I'm just going to keep nodding my head. (I'm really just dozing off anyways.)

    Party on Bill.

    Party on Jack.

Just today I found an audio clip from a 1972 district convention reaffirming 1975.

Fink was right when he pointed out the connection between the OP quote and 1975, it was a fervour.

most would say: "that's old light"

Indeed. Those dates that they have on all the magazines are actually expiration dates. They lose their freshness immediately after distribution and have the shelf-life of bananas.

And as we know, the study books (The Truth that Leads to Eternal Strife, What does the Bible Really Bleach?, etc.) have the shelf-life of a can of tuna.

And now with their new strategy of just using a website, anything and everything can be replaced or tossed at random.

So rather than wasting time, energy, gasoline, and other resources, the best way to keep up with where Jehovah's chariot is heading is to take the current litteratrash, along with the whole singing cart, and your "old light" windowless Kingdumb Haul, and pitch it all in a dumpster. After all, the difference between old light and new light... well really, it's all old light.

Yes a fervor that was just a calculated lying marketing strategy the WTS use to promote their literature.

The 6000 year marketing scheme was previous used in the early 1900's , most JWS don't know that and I certainly didn't know that at the time, although I kind of smelled a lie.

Well when you use the bible as a source to back up your doctrines, why not bullshit a little if its going to stir up your sales. That's the real reason why the WTS has presented so much propagating misinformation about the end times and we living in the last days teachings is because its an publishing house operating at its core.

    .........and that's no lie

You will never grow old in this current system of things... - Awake, May 22, 1969 p. 15

    Most JW`s will tell you that's Old WBT$ Information....."INVALID"..

You won`t be properly informed if you don`t keep up with Current WBT$ Teachings..

New WBT$ Information for 2015 is..

"You Will Never Grow Old In This Current System Of Things."

To those Witnesses who use the "old light" excuse, I would respond by saying that all the Watchtower does is change the burned out light bulbs.
