So you are trying to wack your MIL? That is cool. What does your hubby say about the JW? DOes he think they are the one true religion?

THe advice you got was "quick". There is nothing quick about opening a closed mind.

I would recommend reading some books about cults before you really try to make a run at her. If you approach it like you are trying to win an argument, then you have already failed. Talk to them like a person, not a salesman. Real people actually care and are interested in the person. Salesman only are interested in the person as it pertains to making the sale. Get the difference?

Maybe order Combatting Cult Mind Control and/or Releasing the Bonds both by Steven Hassan.

His whole deal is that helping someone out of a cult isn't a matter of this info or that. It is more of a process. It also might be good for your hubby to read these books as well. Even if he is not in, it might be healthy for him to read about mind control and the phobias that are used to keep people captive.

You might help to clear up some of that "waffleiness".

See the JW are a cult not because of what they believe, rather because of HOW THEY BEHAVE!!!

If someone has the truth they should never have to threaten people with shunning or demand that people not read certain books. Those are control mechanisms to limit a persons perspective to the cult perspective.

Ask your husband how he would feel about it first. If it would bother him read them on your own and maybe mention some of the ideas to him. If your MIL has other family that IS NOT jw, see if any of them would be interested.

Hi. When I went to the meeting on sunday after a long long time, i found a picture in the magazine which you can ask her to explain. If you did get the WT Nov 15 2005, turn to page 23 and ask her what is a dragon like Godzilla doing in the picture. And if you put a mirror on the right hand downward side of the chimminy pot which is on top of the flaming fire, you can ask her next why is there two wild beasts having sex in the picture. Now, I understand why they are there, which I will tell you. The Faithful and Discreet is giving the food at the proper time,who are innocent, but Saten has influanced the Governing Body into printing in the books and mags devilish items, who is the son of destruction recorded in 2 thess 2:34. The study aids The Knowladge book and two other books have also demonistic subliminal images in them. Ask me for more info if you wish. See what she says first, then maby you can explain to her why they are there, then tell her that you do not want any mags or books with devilish items in them. From the same mag you can show her what the early christians did with their demonistic books-burned them. See page 6 of the same mag. Then you can leave it for her to sort out. Hope it goes well. P.S. With the stuff on the bookshelves, ever thougt of selling on Ebay? I have been doing Ebay, and people are willing to pay quite a bit of money for them, esspessaly around the year of 1975? Just a thought.

* When she get's around to reading the "Tree Dream" in Daniel chapter 4 say this: "If you just keep reading, Daniel tells us what this dream really means." ( keep reading past the "Tree dream" to where Daniel says it applies to King Nebuchadnezzar)

* Then ask "Did Jesus and the Apostles ever teach about this" ?

Read the scriptures above and have an understanding. If you abstain from blood you will prosper. The end of verse 29 ends with "Good health to you".

How can a person abstain from blood and die, but yet remain in good health? A person is not in "Good Health" if they voluntarily give up their life while abstaining from blood are they?

Jehovah, your GOD is not Baal; therefore He does not ask that you give up your life, because Jehovah is a GOD of the living and not the dead. This is a main teaching that Jehovah hates with a passion.

If my inlaws were coming around trying to get my wife to be a practicing Witness, I'd stop that cold. I wouldn't be kind. I wouldn't be tactful. I'd stop it now! If ANYBODY were trying to recruit a family member right under my nose, I'd put that in a big block of ice and send it to the South pole. That's intentionally trying to divide my family. I did allow it for years and my family almost didn't survive it. We are just now starting to recover as a family, from Jehovah's Witnesses . We still have lost family members who shun and snub us. It's a bit like spreading a picnic blanket on quicksand.

On ebay, there is a disc being sold for £2 free p+p, which has been sent to various governments (Blair, Bush, ect). In fact the Canadian goverment have taken it very seriously.
