Seriously though, my mother accepted a ~~bible~~ book study back in 1969 when I was only 9 yrs old. The reason was I found out years later was she was hoping that she would not die before entering the Paradise. She is now 80 yrs old and on her death bed. She lives in my household now cause she can't live by herself anymore. She is down now to 65lbs. I wish the F--king WTS could live here for a week and see her pain.( Not to mention mines as well ) Just how many have they sucked into their cult with the promise of "its just around the corner" paradise? She still holds on to her witness beliefs. I will NEVER forgive them when she goes. I think when that time comes it will the catalist I need to finally say whats on my mind to them. May the chips fall where they may at that time.

My wife ran into a jw the other day..........he said they are waiting for one more thing to happen. He said all that has to happen is for the gov's to turn on the jws and then the great trib will start.

I think the next big fulfillment of Bible prophecy that JW's expect to see is the distruction of all false religion (Babylon the Great) by the political element. This is believed to signal the beginning of the great tribulation.

Will wonders never cease? I hadn't thought of this---especially in this way. It really makes a lot of sense though! We may just be on the verge of seeing some major changes (hopefully NOT under the "new light" banner), things that would actually be of benefit to the JWs and not the benefit of the now-arrogant WTS!

I remember in the 70's when some of the world leaders had gathered at Camp David and signed a Peace Treaty (I can "see" the face of the little man with the glasses who signed it, but I can't recall his name....these "senior moments" are great!) But this event had generated TONS of hope and speculation that the "end" was now imminent! (More "imminent" than ever before, that is, LOL)

The last "projected date" that was supposed to be the end of the preaching work was (I believe) at the turn of 2000 or thereabouts. There was a WT article talking about it. If I can locate it, I'll post the date that they said.

Hahaha! The entire WORLD is tired of them and their nonsense and are looking for ways to keep them off their porches and have been for years! With the wacky religions responsible for even MORE wacky (and dangerous) teachings and actions....of COURSE the gov't are looking at these fringe groups and trying to keep one step ahead of them!!! I am quite sure that there are countless files full of very negative documentation just on the WTS alone!

I wouldn't have believed any of them pulled "2034" out of that article that got batted around here a few months ago, but PMJ popped up the other day and offered it up. He even thinks he came up with it on his own, independant of the article.

In a few years, maybe that will be the date feathered at by CO's in their talks, then the odd mention during a public talk. Then praise in the km for those selling their homes to pioneer in the remaining months before the end.

It'll be a good run while it lasts.

I still hear a number discussing the King of the North prophecy.

When the Soviet collapsed the prophecy was shown to be a hoax, as that was supposed to be the last king of the north. Regardless, JWs are waiting to hear who the replacement is, as the King of the North is supposed to turn on them at the time of the end.
