  I apologize to the rest of you posters....I didn't want this to turn into a bummer OR a pity-party......but I just had to speak out and settle (I hope) this brand of "sick humor" and this equally sick person...once and for all.

  I totally agree here with you on this. I have a very good friend who had a stroke and is also paralyzed on his right side. He too had to learn to walk and talk again and it depresses him terribly. There are some real a**holes here on this board and I am sorry to have read that which the a**hole wrote about you.

  Now on to the subject. I don't know what the name is but the other day on TLC channel they said that back when the bible was being written that numbers and letter meaning and that 666 actually had meant a name. I fell asleep before I could get the whole show so I missed what the 666 meant but we all know that anyways.

  So, I've been wrong in saying the beast has both a name and a number.

  THE IMPACT OF Schizm's CONCLUSIONS

  If it were to be assumed that wrong conclusions have been reached regarding the inscription upon the harlot’s forehead ¾ as to whom such name refers ¾ then three separate things would return to obscurity, things that otherwise would have become crystal clear. Please consider:
• Then, we are left with no other way of knowing "the name of the wild beast." This would leave Jehovah having alerted us to the fact of its having a name, but then leaving us unenlightened as to what such name is. (And it is simply erroneous to conclude that its number 666 is its name.) If the name "Babylon the Great" were concluded to be that of the harlot, the uniformity (harmony) of the Scriptures has been broken ¾ because there would prove to be an exception to the rule when it comes to the name on the harlot’s forehead as compared to the three other examples cited.
• Then, we could not be sure of what name is imprinted upon each of the beast’s 7 heads ¾ because two possibilities would then exist according to conflicting examples. It might be its own name, or that of its owner, or just expressions in general that blaspheme God ¾ we would have no way of knowing and it would be left to speculation.
• Then, neither would we be able to ascertain whose name is written upon Jesus’ forehead. Again, more than one possibility would exist. Depending upon which example it is patterned after, it might be that of the One he serves; or it might be as the Society has reasoned, a name "that stands for the position and privileges that Jesus enjoys …. [that] only Jesus can fully appreciate." Then, still, one would have to wonder if it might not be Jesus’ own "new name" such as is spoken of at Revelation 3:12.

So, as is plain, to assume that wrong conclusions have been reached adds up to a big loss. Conversely speaking, there is a great advantage in allowing the Bible to be consistent, for it is then that the Bible becomes its own interpreter. Then everything fits together like we know God’s word should and we are left joyfully exclaiming: "Now I see!" How grateful we are for Jehovah having revealed such deep things to us "babes" ¾ for having ‘made known his words’ to us. ¾ Luke 10:21; Proverbs 1:23 .
