Cellist,
Thanks and surprised at your response. I haven't yet read anything from the current responses to make me think my nephew was out of line. There's still time.
Your nephew is right you know.
However, that doesn't mean that the witnesses at that time weren't misled by the FDS.
Show him the Kingdom Ministry from May 1974 and the Watchtower article from 1969 about not persuing college.
The FDS is supposed to be God's mouthpiece.
I didn't know what to say to that.
I was in since 1957 until 1992 EVERYBODY lived and died for 'staying alive till 75' the most common jw meet & greet exchange post 1975 until about 10 years after was "we never thought we would still be living in this system"
The WT was in deep bleep for the 75 fiasco so they conjured up the addendum of "how long did it take for Adam to name the animals"? The premise being that Adam & Eve would have copulated immediately upon introduction as their commission was to procreate, hence Eve must have been confabulated by satan almost instantly and sinned before they could have intercourse as being perfect she would have conceived a perfect child in the garden of eden (no missed periods) so ero the the time lapse of 4026 plus the years that Adam was alone 'naming the animals' could be a post 1975 addendum. This WT time extension worked for 4 years then around 1980 it was time for a 'purge' to oust all dissenters.
Anybody who denys all of this is a damned liar-Danny haszard
Soledad,
this thread is becoming interesting. With some things I've said in this thread I feel like an apostate to the apostate cause but my bottom line is getting to the truth of things so I don't care.
"However, that doesn't mean that the witnesses at that time weren't misled by the FDS."
Do you mean they were actually told in print to pioneer because that could mitigate the sycophantic charge against them?
Cellist,

And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, `Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, up to the first.' And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. Now when the first came, they thought they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius. And on receiving it they grumbled at the householder
A Paduan, yes, but, these weren't last minute workers. They were already employed and when they heard that the boss was coming they knuckled down. (Obviously, some were sincere. But there were many whose motives were suspect).
Danny, this isn't about whether or not the WTS is guilty. There's no doubt about that!

Paduan,
Nice one. Your are implying my nephew was right.
Would you say these pioneers lost the plot or tried to plot for better reward?

Logging off now. Back in a few hours.
each of them received a denarius.
I've given talks on that parable it's about the 'pay' of everlasting life the Watchtower's explanation (which is sensible) is that you can't get more than everlasting life? What would it be everlasting life plus one year?
The WT has blasphemousy twisted and thumped Jesus parable and hurled it against followers who wise up at their fraud for God.Example i was a 3rd generation born JW and slaved my ass off for the WT.Just as i was dfed there was a 6 month baptized new recruit who was being loved bombed/groomed to MS in 18 months. They flattered him how blessed he was compared to a burn out cop out bum like me and cited that parable.
The WT pulled the same stunt in 1914 they promised the rapture then when followers walked away.they said they were too lazy to do the great ingathering grunt work of door to door read the 1980 yearbook it's full of it and chronicles mostly defaults in europe.

I thought this was about a renewed offer ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- So it was more like this? Let heavier work be laid upon the men that they may labor at it and pay no regard to lying words
