The word Jehovah never appears in the NT. The WTS felt it needed to make the OT and NT consistent on the use of this word, so include Jehovah in the NT in the NWT bible, rather than understand why Jesus did not use the word Jehovah

When I showed my wife in the Kingdom Interlinear that the Greek word translated Jehovah was the same as the Greek word for Lord she couldn't deny that the WTS is guilty of changing the scriptures to suit thier purpose. I suppose you cant get a copy of the Kingdom Interlenear any longer?

As GaryBuss keeps pointing out, the WTS is a book publishing company. It's a business. The path to success in business is to follow the adage, 'Find a need and fill it.' That means carving out a niche for yourself (the way Starbucks did, for example, or McDonald's). The WTS has carved out their own little niche. What sets them apart is their reliance on OT theology.

The leaders since Rutherford have worked tirelessly to "own" that niche, and they've succeeded. That's why the WTS has six million adherents. Niche marketing works!

That's it in a nut shell. Actually before the name change and certainly in Russell's time there was great emphasis on Jesus. There is no doubt Rutherford was ahead of his time

in niche marketing, but neither he or his followers have deviated from the origional marketing plan. Unfortunately part of the plan was to downgrade Jesus.

Wouldn't want him competing with the WBTS now, would we?

Is it true that there are 500 shareholders in this company? If so do we know who they are and what their dividens are?

PMJ, two points about the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived book. 1) The book doesn't even have Jesus' name on the front cover. They could have made the title "Jesus: The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" 2) One of the first pictures you see in the book is of Jesus on a path POINTING the way, as if he is just following someone. Rather, Jesus IS the way, he should be pointing to himself.

Star Moore, thanks for the kind words. I've been meaning to write this in a plain, understandable way, but the concept was too difficult for me to write down at the time. After carefully making observations of the use and mention of Jesus, it's obvious now that none of the JW's really KNOW him at all.
