WOW i didnt realize this was an ex jw site! The reason y in so interested in jw teachings is because ive been goin out wiv a man (who has been brought up as a jw) since i was 16 yrs old! He resently finished with me because he wants to become baptized! I should be mad really, but i have 2 say that the reasent signs in the world like the consistant earthquakes ect have really opened my eyes as 2 whether or not jw teachings may be true!

You seriously need to do some research into this organization! They lie to their own people, and by the way there is much research on the 'earthquake' thing you suggest, the wt is wrong again. They have a severe pedophile problem and hide it. I ask you, how many men rape children with two witnesses to see? none? then it never happened according to the jw's. Look I'm married to one, you don't want to be in the jw lifestyle. Furthermore it is unbiblical. They are not led by God. Please do some research before you destroy your life.

Have a good look around this place and let what you see help you decide whether the JW religion is right or not (there are a few apologists here too!).
A word of advice - earthquakes, wars and all that have been going on since the year dot - that should NEVER be a sole reson for joining ANY religion. You join any religion, you buy the whole package. Please be careful whatever you decide.

The JWs have been talking about the end of the world for 120 years and in the past made many false predictions 1914, 1925, 1975. As for earthquakes and wars these have already occured and not more at present than in the past.

They have been saying the same thing for ever and ever. "Consistent earthquakes"? Do some research outside of the Watchtower magazines or the other publications on this. They will constantly say everything is getting worse, all the time, even when that is not necessarily the case. They will, in fact, ignore evidence that contradicts what they want JWs to believe.
I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. I believe it completely because it was the only source from which I received such information, and I was taught to never question it and never research outside of their publications. If you allow yourself to become too closely associated with that religion, you will lose your individuality and your freedom.
You are so young. I beg you to research thoroughly the religion you are becoming involved with. Don't take my word for it, or anyone else's. Otherwise, you might spend an untold number of years entrapped, and then who knows how many after, trying to recover from it.

Sweetie, why on Earth would you want to be in a relationship with someone just like this, who puts their loyalty to an organization above your companionship and love?
Why would you want to be around anyone who could cast you aside after knowing you for 3 years in favor of a belief system? And the only reason he did that was because the congregation elders told him that you were the "impediment" to his becoming baptized as a JW....
That is just messed up.
