wow, ur cute, i would love to help u, you can email me at smodaddy@sfae-mail.net or call me at 1-770-584-1013

Ah yes, write a random guy who's only posted here three times and has dug up every thread ever posted of a girl looking for a guy... I feel obliged to teach this person a lesson about posting an E-mail address on a public form like this As far as everything else goes, your young and hurt right now, be weary of JW they try and take advantage of people like you. There are many good religions out there that don't turn people into paranoid introverts like your ex. I encourage you to look elsewhere for you answers to qustions you have. You may also want to look into science and evolution, you will find much truth there that is verifiable and wont lead you in any false directions or give you false hopes. Try doing a google search on Scientology and reading about it, look at the rediclus beliefs they have, JW's are no different. Look at other cults like the Mormons, they believe that some dude found stones given to him by an angle and everyone in that religion follows what this man wrote. Before you join any relgion I ask you to conisder that humans have evolved to want social acceptance and have an ability to understand abstract thoughts. Don't be mislead by fairtales, we live in the 21ist century. If you become a JW they will tell you never to get a higher education, never to ask questions about how we got here and why the universe and the earth is like it is today, they will feed you fair tales written long ago by men that have no scientific bearing. Do you believe that the sun and stars were created after the earth? No? Well thats what the bible teaches. You'll find someone else, but don't fall into the trap of religion.

(Luke 14:28-33) 28 For example, who of YOU that wants to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense, to see if he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, he might lay its foundation but not be able to finish it, and all the onlookers might start to ridicule him, 30 saying, ‘This man started to build but was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, marching to meet another king in war, does not first sit down and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand troops to cope with the one that comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 If, in fact, he cannot do so, then while that one is yet far away he sends out a body of ambassadors and sues for peace. 33 Thus, you may be sure, none of YOU that does not say good-bye to all his belongings can be my disciple.

but earthquakes have taken a larger toll because in many cases cities have been built just where the crust is weakest. Why? Because the shifting of the crust in the past has created changes in the water table, raising the water closer to the surface. You cannot have a large population without water and so cities have been built in earthquake zones despite the risk.

I'd love to see that research.

Nevertheless, the figures quoted by James Jackson were impressive. In the last thousand years earthquakes causing 10,000 or more deaths occurred around 1 year in 20 from 1000-1600, around 1 year in 5 from 1600-1900, around 1 year in 3 in the twentieth century, and so far this century just about 1 year in 1. Here is a summary of his talk if you are interested.

That's no more impressive than making much of increased death-toll per passenger plane crash whilst ignoring the fact that planes are larger.

There is no increase in frequency. It does not say "and due to massive cities requiring good water supplies, a disproportionate number shall be built in areas likely to suffer earthquakes, so that the death toll from earthquakes increases greatly even though the frequency of earthquakes remains the same."

Therefore all else is moot, besides the point, apologism.
