  But the 'developing world' can't afford to finance what the society requires. They need developed countries to sustain their cash flow. If the only growth is third world and perhaps poor immigrants to first world, they're in trouble.

  ducatijoe, their still told they can't have whole blood but one can now have all ingredients of blood including Hemoglobin even cow hemoglobin which makes up 96% of a red blood cell and 45% total blood by volume. Its been stated here by members that when one of their relatives need a transfusion Cows blood called Hemopure is recommended by the HLC.

  This won't change anything. Remember that witnesses are to immediately turn away from anything that brings bad light on the organization. So, those "good" witnesses will never see this program.

  And what about those outside of the US? They'll never even hear about this.

  Cow's blood ? how does that work ? And how do you square the teaching that the life is in the blood with having even parts of cow's blood in your system ? Like ducatijoe I'm wondering if there is a link to that .

  I very much doubt it. After all - look at the Mormons - 5 minutes on google and you can see it is all complete nonsense but that doesn't stop millions being completely indoctrinated.

  There is some evidence that there are increasing numbers of JW learning TTATT and getting out , but as we all know it is really difficult and takes tremendous mental strength to firstly realise that you are in a cult and secondly exit. Most JWs either aren't capable of this or just have too much invested in the whole process to even begin to "wake up."

  IKH, you are probably right. Demographics don't change much.

  There will always be those people who only have the intellectual capacity to find and click on the WTS approved website. There will always be those people who believe that any other information comes from that guy who dresses in red underwear and carries a fork.

  
  

  As far as growth goes, I do not believe in the numbers that are put out by the WTS. They lie about everything else so I have no reason to trust anything that comes from them. Numbers are just numbers...they are meaningless and easily manipulated.
  And, if this recent website presence does increase numbers...well, then the 'numbers' will be solidly grounded in those of lower intellectual ability. I propose that this internet presence will "separate the wheat from the chaff" - the smart ones will leave or not join and the visible rank and file JW community will be made up of solely lower intellect persons. And, in that sweep for new members, the net will drag in people who 1) are dissatisfied with the 'system' (government) 2) don't want to do military service 3) like to pet lions 4) believe that they are better than anyone else, that they are 'special'.

  Yes, the HLC was recommending Hemopure long before the FDA recommended it. The HLC recommended JWs for clinical trials in Hemopure. The JWs were/are used to test artificial blood.
