Actually though, getting a JW to accept this graph...easiest thing to do is check first the Society's year books and see if you could prove it from their own books

Of course we can.......I've got ALL their literature back to the 1940s.......yearbooks, bound volumes, brochures, tracts, pamphlets, etc. hell, I've even got two of Charles Russell's Studies in the Scriptures and I think I've also got an original Golden Age magazine somewhere too.........I inherited them from my grandmother who started going to the Kingdumb Hell in 1935 and she never threw anything away. All the statistics are there in black and white, although it's a pain in the ass to have to look them all up. I've got their CD-ROM but it's more difficult to find the info on them because the graphs and charts don't show up. Even the most faithful Dubs must know that there's a serious decline in their growth because the Worldwide Statistics come out every year in February and they can see it for themselves. Here in Canada, we've had a zero percent increase for the last several years and everybody knows it. How encouraging is that, having to go knock on the same doors that you've been knocking on for 50 years with absolutely NO interest and no growth? Of course, there was a talk on this "problem" about a year ago where everyone was told not to get "discouraged" if there was no growth in their area, because no one listened to Noah either, but he preached for 120 years, blah, blah, blah............however, I don't recall Noah having to get a certain amount of hours in every month or attend 5 useless meetings a week either on pain of death.....and even if he did, that still doesn't explain the lack of growth when Jehovah's supposed to "speed it up" at The End. Didn't they, in pre-1975 days, declare that the fabulous increases they were experiencing was "proof" that The End was so close??? Hmmm.......I guess Jehovah must have shed "new light" on that interpretation as well and has "revealed" that the growth would slow to a snail's pace just before The End.

I remember a statement made by an eldork at a Sunday meeting years ago. It was during the watchtower study with the big chart in the middle of the magazine and he was reviewing all of the figures for the past year. Then he said, ''Does anyone notice anything significent about the figures for the US?'' Everyone just basically stared at him...Then he started going off about how isn't it odd that we had over 1000 baptized last year, but no obvious growth?

''There are more people leaving Jehovah's organization than there are getting baptized!!!!'' blahblahblahblah

Of course I was curious as to why people would be leaving jeehoover...The rest is history.

No dont go getting it all mary, i was just saying if they start denying it grab their books, it hurts for them to be proved wrong from their own stuff!

I noticed the same here in Canada, especially now that it seems most of the meetings there are more and more dubs missing.

funnily enough, I heard the opposite comment , from the platform, recently when I took my wife to a one day Circuit Assembly .

They said not to be concerned about the passing of time,,

"After all we know that about 5000 people every week are getting baptized these days. That is a large number and it shows that Jehovah is indeed speeding things up at his own time"

I gulped at the wilful manipulation of figures. No mention of those who drop away, causing a measly one point something increase

The J DUB leadership are the ultimate in Spin Doctors. When I was a witness I didn't even know if we were expecting more wars as a sign or a declaration of peace! Whatever the world events you can always find a scripture to support it! Few are the ones finding the narrow path to life, but we are speeding up that path in our own time!
