What is so "disturbing" about being likened to Islam?

Do not confuse the normal mainstream Islam of the hundreds of millions of people in this world , with the extremist wing who promote terrorism and political violence. It would be like blaming all Catholics for the violence of the I R A

The Muslims that I know, work with and used to "witness to" are decent people with a strong moral code and family values

Yep, that's where Jesus got his ideas. He must have read the Q

Plum, The Quran was was not written 'til around 600 years after Jesus time. The WT always say that it was drawn from the Bible

Walk up to a presiding overseer and start comparing the WT teaching and practices to Islam and see what happens.

    Dan,
No, 'fundies' are not all the same. Islamic fundies believe they gain a ticket to heaven by killing themselves along with others who have offended there particular beliefs. We see no Jews nor Christians strapping bombs to themselves and blowing up as many innocents as they can. There is no teaching in Judaism or Christianity that says sacrificing yourself and taking enemies with you is even sanctioned, much less a guarantee of heaven. Why don't you actually think for once instead of 'knee jerking' in order to slam Christians? Are you that much of a cry baby that you cannot accept that JWs harmed you, not fundamental Christians? Quit whining about Christians who are serious about their personal walk with God.

Shiner, I stand by what I said. Fundies, whether Islamic or Xtian, are at their core people of the same mindset - our magic ancient book says right here that we're right, you're wrong, and our big bad angry God is gonna give you a royal ass-whoopin' that will NEVER END!!!

They both wrongly think that they have the true religion and want to impose it if possible on the entire world.

Islamists Post Hit List of 'Apostates'
“An Egyptian group calling itself the "al-Jama’ah Consultative Council" has sent an e-mail hit list to people deemed 'apostates' yesterday. The group warned that those people on the list who had left the faith would have three days (as of yesterday) to repent or they would be killed. The group also warned that the wives and children of the Muslim apostates were being followed & would be killed.
Under Islamic Law, the maximum penalty for apostasy is death.
The list includes prominent Muslims living in the West who have spoken out against violent Islamic extremism and intolerance, some still living in Muslim countries, as well as Coptic Christians who have advocated equal treatment in Egypt.”

    Dan,
Your assumptions are actually dangerous to common sense. Even a shallow investigation of the facts reveals your error. Believe what you want to believe.

Well, considering that you told me on another thread that yes, I'm going to hell if I don't get myself right with g0d, and also that everybody needs to decide where they want to spend eternity - smoking or non-smoking (LOL!), I really can't see where my dangerous or erroneous assumption is...enlighten me please!

A few years ago I was invited to speak about cults at an orthodox Jewish girls school.

I often wonder if they thought about the lists of criteria for cults rang any bells with those young women. In my mind there were far too many similarities
