How is taking the book helping the "cause"? We got the photocopies. That is all we need. It's not like the book is not on the internet. Richie has a full life ahead of him ... why have this on his record? That is stupid. And all because of some sect? Hell no. By taking the book you are showing them that they are so important that we need to use such tactics.

We need to keep this sect as far away as possible from our lives.

How was taken the book helped the cause? WHO HAS BENEFITED? That is what I thought. No one!!! I think that it was awesome that it was photocopied, but we have no use for the book. Do you???

The alleged book that he allegedly found contained many hand written notes. These notes were dictated to the elder by COs and DOs with instructions for the elders to follow. The instructions were not put in the original book because they could potentially cause liability problems for the WTS... with hand written notes the WTS can deny they had anything to do with them.

The copy of the Flock Book already on the internet does not contain these insightful and important notes. This is why the alleged book that he allegedly found is so important.

Wow, first of all I can't believe this got to this many posts without me seeing it. Richie you the man! Couple of things that I want to say based on what I've heard on here...

First, Richie, deny everything, they have to have two witnesses. Unless they present you with printed out copies of your posts on JWD it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!

Second, regarding the theft, there would not be an arrest for the theft of this book. It isn't even a misdemeaner. The level of offense on stolen property is based on the value of the book. The organization would have to prove the book was worth more than say $500.00 (depends on the state).

Ethics - you can argue ethics if you like, did Richie do the right thing or the wrong thing. There are always going to be two schools of thought on this one. Because Richie chose to take the book, again, valued at about a dollar, does not make him a thief. Richie was schooled in theocratic warfare. He hasn't been in the real world to learn about ethics, he's still a lad (sorry Rich, but you a babe, son). Give him time to mature.

Please, to attack him for this seems a bit much.

Beep Beep said: Any reason why they shouldn't ? It's STOLEN property isn't it? Richie has even bragged that he took it didn't he? Theft is theft. It's amazing how you all condone this kind of action.

You're right Beep Beep. Ritchie stealing that book should be punishable by death. Let's take 'im out back and stone him to death, or at least cut off his right hand. And it's such a monumental theft. I mean the WTS has only stolen our lives, our families, our dreams of a successful life and happiness. They've only stole any personal relationship with God that a mere R&F Witness might have enjoyed, including having Jesus as our Saviour----no, that's only allowed to a select few with the Governing Body's permission.

Why, in comparison to all that, stealing a book is just soooo much worse..........

    Richie,

Ethics and Theocratic Warfare aside, what you have done is going to help many people. Is it right? Is it wrong? I don't know. "Let's leave it in the hands of Jehobah and let him sort it out in his own time."

The fact that your first reaction was to worry about your mom just reinforces that you are an upstanding young man. If life ever brings you to Arkansas, you have a place to stay.

I doubt they would ever use printed copies of JWD and if they did you could say someone was maybe trying to impersonate you.

Dont admit to anything. They will drop it.

Hasn't the "society" told people in positions of trust that if they uncover serious wrongdoing by another JW they are to report it?

Example that has been mentioned on here before about a person working in a Dr's office, reads reports about someone receiving a blood transfusion or having an abortion and is under obligation to report the said offence? This would entail that person breaking confidentiality laws, but the "society" say in effect "screw those laws"? (I know Scully has discussed this topic at length before - I think she even wrote a paper on it.)

Ritchie has seen evidence of protecting child molesters! Does he not have an obligation to bring this to light?

Do we not all have an obligation to try and protect those most vunerable in this world? Stand up for those that cannot stand up for themselves?

As MKR said here, I was also thinking the same thing. This entire fiasco can easily be compared to a 'whistleblower' case. Secret information which was 'stolen' is being brought forth to prove what the WTS said is wrong.

Treat this whole situation like any other 'whistleblower' corporate scenario, and they can't touch you.

Don't DA yourself RR. Make them DF you. If this whole thing eventually becomes public(news print or TV), you will appear to be in a much better light to the public if THEY kicked you out for 'blowing the whistle.'

When it comes to protecting children their are no rules.....

Very few people can say they have ever been molested. If I had been molested I would do more than snag a book.

    Think about it

Mister Elder stops by and wants you to sit in his lap and wiggle around a bit.He reads you cute little bible stories.......

Hell no!!!!! I would use his castrated winky for a bookmarker........I would not give a rats ass about that silly little book or how it was obtained.

Wow, I'm away for a few days and all this goes down!

That info needs to be made known. If anyone else can gain access to another book showing those same/similar marginal notes then please please please photocopy them (or use a film camera). We're talking about proof positive of little care the WTS has for its flock....the children and lets also not forget about the elders it has running the show for them in the individual congregations (personally I say those idiots who follow those directions deserve any charges they may get for going along with it). How can anyone question the ethics and morality of getting this out there? I think some people would change their tune if there children (God forbid) were ever even just exposed to possible danger from elders/ministerial servants who have had their history of pedophilia covered-up? What did the CO say more than one? "Don't say anything that'll implicate the WTS' legal dept" Yeah we can see all they care about.
