I wish that so much contempt shown here by certain persons would take the time and realize how terrible an ordeal Lawrence has gone through. He has to endure the endless abuse of the Society and his own family. He has suffered more than most. He lost his most precious blessing, a Child a gift from God this sweet daughter Bethany.
Think before critizing this man, walk a mile in his shoes and then some. I am so glad so many are supportive.
He is not trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes. He is sincere, he is hurt, he is having to deal with the idiots that run the So-called Bible based organization. This is the same organization that has allowed hundreds or more like thousands lose their lives for reasons that are not even bible based but man made regulations that they have imposed upon the witnesses. They will answer for this some day.
Had I been in the same situation as Lawrence, I'd hope that I could remain couragous and gallant in dealings with the WBTS.
How sad it is to have rumblings in the group by a few when we should all be pulling together to show our support to Lawrence's needs. He has proved to be loyal and at no time has tried to trick anyone. All we need to do is look at things from the proper prespective. Support can be given in many ways. Be it by monatary means, prayers, or spreading the truth about his story and the lose of his beloved child.
Just think it could have been anyone of our children, would we remain valiant as Lawrence has?
You have my deepest support by means of my prayers Lawrence. Those who have given monetarily I think it is beautiful.
May all of us work productively in making this a forum where Lawrence and anyone for that matter who needs love and comfort, be able to come here and recieve our deepest love and support and respect. Remeber it could have been your beautiful child.

A very important statement was said here which I forgot to mention. This Lawsuit has set several Precedents and could set other Precedents. Also, there has been a tremendous amount of media coverage. If I were not able to obtain an experienced Lawyer to represent this lawsuit and the lawsuit fails, these important Precedents would be overturned and the chance for other Precedents lost which would have a negative impact on the Cause and on saving lives and putting an early end to the Blood Doctrine. The good that this Lawsuit has achieved and the good that you have achieved for the Cause could be undone or set back many years.
I reviewed with the Lawyer the documents I had from this case, and the Secret WTS books and the "Jehovah Witnesses, Blood Transfusions, and the Tort of Misrepresentation". The lawyer said that all these documents could be introduced as evidence. The lawyer asked me a question, " What do you want out of this lawsuit?"
My answer was, " If I had one wish , it would be to put an end to this madness, this blood doctrine. I do not want my other two daughters to die because of this religion".
The lawyer's answer to me was," If you can prove in court what you have said to me now, you could take down the Watchtower Society".
That made me think about the fact that the Watchtower is only a Corporation, a buisness, a legal entity. It has been done countless times that an individual, or group of individuals have taken a Corporation to Court and won. This is an important oportunity. Some once said, " There is nothing sadder than a missed opportunity".
It was asked why I do not get a lawfirm to represent me on a Contingency Basis. I have been trying very hard and have been told by many lawfirms that they are not interested in taking this case on a Contingency Basis for several reasons. One: It is not a simple case to litigate. Two: The amount of money that could be awarded would be too small to make it worth while. Three: The odds of winning is not good enough. For a lawfirm to take on a case on Contingency, it has to be simple, straigtforward, a sure thing and they would want to win big. Because the death was that of a child , and the chances of Bethany living was 50% or less than 50%, and because it is a complicated case, chances are no lawfirm will take it on , on a Contingency Basis. Even if I am that lucky, they would still expect a retainer and the out of pocket expenses covered. I hope I was successfull in answering some of your questions. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Larry. I highly suggest that your attorney takes the needed time to read these said documents and books. Especially the essay that Kerry wrote in the Journal of Church and State that you mention above. It is my opinion that it is imparative your lawyer STUDY this particular article.
It should then become crystal clear as to "what you want out of this lawsuit".
In a word, justice.

The child was pushed into a corner by a 'religion' masquerading as God's mouthpiece on Earth, and died with treatment options taken from her.
Everyone deserves the right to a full range of options in treatment, and she had been fooled into believing that she wasn't allowed a treatment that might have prolonged her life.
Thusly, the misrepresenation of the lethal policy concerning blood, as written by the book publishing empire, Watchtower Society.
Skeeter has obviously read the December 2005 article mentioned and lays it out well.
Island Woman, many of us are aware that the Mother Watchtower organization is not going to "go away" anytime soon. However, we certainly aren't going to allow it to go on with the insane policies, such as that as the "no-blood policy", that has KILLED many of its most innocent members. Members that really aren't even aware of such misrepresentation of said policy.
I realize Ted holds a special place in your heart. Well, he must be held accountable, with the rest of Them. And it may not be today, tomorrow or years to come, yet They WILL be judged, someday.
We aren't going to stop fighting for justice and being that voice for the children. Reminds me of a Don Henley song, I can't recall the name right now, but it goes something like...I will not lie down, I will not go quietly...
When I think about this policy and the fact that my mom would have easily abided by it, I get sick. I get sick for all those kids whose IDIOT parents are so entranced in this religion and its dogma. Dogma that takes scriptures and twists them into complete insanity for the children trapped by their parents beliefs. Beliefs that kill!
Don't get me started on the other incredible insane teachings and hypocritical contradictions of this book publishing company masking as a true religion. I have a warm apple pie I made today that awaits me.

I know what I would like. Proof that Bethany Hughes was misinformed and manipulated by her WT handlers, and in no way could be considered capable of refusing life-saving treatment.
Right now she is a darling of human rights by certain factions here in Canada. Let's show how her rights were trampled by the WTBTS. It NEVER WAS about Bethany.
