I think I have a few times in my life, but the one I had most recently really shook me up. It was really a re-occuring thought and feeling more than anything else .I preceived it as something happening to me when in reality it happened to some one close to me. It sounds stupid , doesn't it ? toubled mind is a good moniker for me after all...............no comments Wombat !

Not sure you call this a premonition.
I was getting a taxi with my son. He got in the front me in rear seat. I never put on seat belt if sitting in back of taxi. As taxi was setting off a son and driver were chatting. A couple of minutes into ride a clear voice in my head said "Put the seat belt on" . At first I thought it was driver but he and son were still chatting away. So I put seat belt on. A minute later a car came out of side road right in front of us driver slams brakes on, and we come to halt about a foot away from car. If I didn't have seat belt on I would have slammed into the front seat of even over it.

aniron I think that would qualify!
A friend of mine had a premonition this week. Terrible one. On Sunday he had a premonition that a friend of his was going to die in a car accident. He told us of this as well. The next day, Monday, it actually happened. Tragic.

Just wondering if you folks have any theories regarding how information about the unknown future gets into your brains as electrical stimulus..?

I've heard many people claim it's a guardian angel . Of course a j-dubby would say it's the deemonz . I have had some strange things happen in that line as well .

You want my theory?
My theory doesn't exist. I don't believe that the future has happened yet, therefore it cannot be known.

One thing I might add, anyone who claims knowledge of future events, as such, is necessarily implying the condition of fate. knowledge of future events = no free will.
