Have you ever had a premonition ? (page 3)

Instinct or premonition, I do think it is the universe's way of speaking to us. whether we listen to it or not is up to us.

I saw something on Oprah once about humans and instinct. And they were saying that many people who were interviewed after bad things happened to them or their children said they got a bad feeling about someone or something right before but just ignored it. And Oprah was like "People always trust your instinct", without fail it always protects you. Then she went on to show that there have been studies on this topic. I have found this personally to be true and teach it to my kids too. Because I do think we have this for a protection.

I also had a pervert who was a long standing family friend drop by one day when I was the only one home. I was only about 10. I think I was sick and home from school and Mom went to get me medicine. I had the chain on the door and he wanted to come in. I knew him since birth but this day had a really bad feeling and told him to wait until my mom came. Well, he tried to push the door open and he scared me to death. I was able to shut it and put the dead bolt on. Years later, He also was arrested for being a child molestor.

I think it runs in families too. My mother had experiences. I have many more and in many different ways. I had written about a recent powerful event on a past thread, and just found out that psychics call it, "sending out an SOS" some of us receive them from others either dying or in grave danger. I am at a place in my life where I am very fascinated with it and wonder what I am to do with such a gift. When your young you feel a little different but you don't realize that this is not normal. It is paranormal and not everyone has it, but you don't fully realize this until you get older. It is probably another reason I have always been able to train/communicate with animals. I was a professional horse wrangler and have always had close friendships with all sorts of animals.

I also believe that some of us, or maybe all have angels that watch out for us. I know there is more to life than what our eyes can see. My goodness, who woulda thought we would have found protons and neutrons in an atom!!! How small is that! A hundred years ago they would have called us NUTS for even considering such a thing.

I'm glad to hear other ones have experienced these feelings too. I don't know how to explain it either , but instinct seems pretty good to me . I think some people are just more in tune to it than others .

electromagnatism...can do some wierd stuff. Our brains are electrical. So who knows. There is just so much we don't know, but I am all for Oprah's advice, obey your intuition.

Kate that is very interesting what you just wrote about some one sending out an s.o.s., and maybe some are sensitive enough to pick up on it .

whatever it is, I wouldn't worry that it was demonic. Especially if it works out for the good. I have had many episodes too. Probably too many to list. Heres one more. I was sitting in my Livingroom last summer when I suddenly shot up from the sofa and told my daughter I was going outside to check on my son (he was 10 at the time), I said, I think something is wrong. So my daughter followed me out. By the time I got half way down the road, my son was coming up crying. Some kids were bullying him in the woods down the street (where I told him not to go alone) and one of them sat on him for some reason and was choking him. He couldn't breath and was crying for me he said. so he was surprised to see me coming when I obviously could not hear him. Of course I did "hear him" but internally. So SOS seems like a good term for it. I never really share this because people think you are weird. And of course in the JWs they would have thought I was possessed.

I actually have a really good sense to when something of the occult is around. It bothers my senses. So I believe what I have is good. For years when I would visit my mother in law, she would have my husband and I sleep in one bedroom of her home. I always felt very unconfortable and would wind up leaving the room for the couch. My husband asked me all the time why I left the room and I told him there was a presence there. It felt cold and I had an aversion to it for some reason. Anyway, he told his family and they all thought I was nuts. Well one day my hubby was helping my mom in law clean out the room (which belonged to her son who was hardly home) and in the back of the closet was all kinds of occult items and things that had to do with black magic. My hubby was like "how did you know"?. I just did. I never liked these things because my mom was into witch craft when I was little and I had some bad experiences. But thats a whole other story.

How about this ... what if you had one of those feelings , but you didn't know at the time who it was for so you couldn't act on it....then after it is to late it all makes sense to you ......how do you deal with that ?

I would pray to God for help in figuring out exactly what the gift is you have. And ask him to help you use it to help people. I found the more I paid attention to it, the better it worked for me. In the beginning, I didn't know what it was. I thought it was just coincidence. But then it happened too many times. And since my mom had it too and I noticed my daughter, I realized it had to be hereditary. I find it much stronger because I am open to it more since leaving the WT. Because they demonize everything. I realized that many people in the bible had dreams, foretold the future and had similar experiences and as long as they were considered Godly, no one demonized them. They attributed it to God and Holy Spirit. And I feel I have Holy Spirit. Also, since I dont have idols in my home and I am a Christian and do not ascribe to anything satanistic, why wouldnt I think it was a godly gift?

One excercise I do now is tell myself before going to bed what type of dream I would like to have. For instance I will say something like, I would like to dream something nice from my childhood or I want to dream about my deceased mom and I find that many times I can direct myself into having the dream I want. this I think, the more you do it, the more you are exercising your ability. My daughter says she does this all the time and she is only 13 and it works. Also when I have a premonition, I act on it all the time! The more you use the ability, the more it will work for you. I remember in the very beginning, I did have premonitions that I did not act on but I didn't know any better. Once I realized it kept happening I started trying to control it. I also just started praying to God to speak to me in my dreams and show me what he wants me to do to be a better person, Christian, etc. I will let you know how it works out. Goodnight now! Lilly
