Attended the Circuit Assembly - the work IS slowing down.

I went to one assembly in Bowes Road, London one year and there were NO baptisms. The speaker had to make his talk general, as a reminder for the audience. It was wierd, and the first time I had experienced such a thing in over 30 years attendance.

Can't the BOEs and the CO coordinate that there be at least one. The BOEs have to approve those they have gone through the questions with. They must have a general idea who qualifies and where they plan on attending. Can't the CO find that out? Also, I can remember one year, there were 4 getting baptized on one side of the circuit and 0 on the other. They made 2 change over to the other side (getting the family's cooperation, eh?).

I used to go to Bowes Rd, quite often there would be no baptisms. Brothers would convince themselves it was because everyone was holding out to get baptised at Twickenham (DC)

I don't think that there is any discussion between the BoE & the CO , at least not that I am aware of. I don't think the CO has any involvement at all. The JW who is giving the talk usually phones around the POs to see how many are getting baptised just in case he has to amend his talk if there aren't any candidates. The Baptism Overseer does the same , to see if any extra assistants are required (unlikely , as discussed).

Dozy of course the Circuit Overseer knows, he overseers the Circuit Assembly.

The CO controls everything on the CA and SAD, including who gives the baptism talk. So when no one shows up for baptism, he has to know and advise the brother giving the talk to adjust his outline.

My previous post was rhetorical...of course he knows...top down management in the WTS. The elders lost the power in 1938.
