True, and why don't they follow what Jesus said in that prayer? Jesus said and Forgive those who trespass against us"....something the JW's don't do...maybe that's why they don't want to pray it...
YOU must pray, then, this way:

Oh, but you are so wrong!!!! They do forgive! After 6 months to (the longest i know) 3 years of perfect meeting attendance, and lets not forget the shunning in that period of time. (you took the shunning well, my brother, you can now once again be a part of Jehovahs org! Blah Blah!

buttlight,
I was not saying we shouldn't say this prayer. I was simply saying that our heavenly father knows what we need so the WT should not be concerned with what words we use in prayer. It is a personal matter. You can say the words if you want or say them different. They dont need to make a big deal of it. Thats what I meant. Lilly

I wasnt refering to you in particular I just think that if this was Jesus words, then we should follow them, like all the rest of the words he commanded! Thou shall not kill, so we dont. You must pray this way, so we should!

Butt,
Matthew 6:7 says: But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. 8 So, do not make yourselves like them, for God YOUR Father knows what things YOU are needing before ever YOU ask him.
So it shouldn't be repetitive....the model prayer just means a example for us to follow and make our own. Like a guide for us to learn how to pray.

HA! That's the "Hail Mary" prayer they say 10 times...1st it is the "Lord's Prayer" followed by ten recitations of "Hail Mary"
"Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee".
Take that! Not as stupid as I look.
