We only have a shorter life expectancy because we're always doing stunts to try to impress you gals which results in an early grave.

Yeah right, that's why there's mostly only MEN present at these feats of idiocy courage and bravery.

Kate you are right, that Danny H is a heartbreaker.

this is a great post the women are put down in this org. and made to feel guilty about everything all the time

i was also very stressed when trying to care for children, my home and attend meetings and service and everything else required then when i would vioce how i felt i would be reminded of how each does what they can one 30, one 60, one 90 only then to attend a meeting and hear more talk of how we have to SHOW our appreciation of Jehovah and his organization complete double talk they constantly put you down for not doing enough then say no your just taking it wrong

as for sisters being in service more, yes this was the case in my congregation i always found it funny how the week of the COs visit the elders and others who were rarely out during the week suddenly found the time

NomoreTruthplz: I couldn't agree with you more. I raised 4 kids and it was stressful doing everything. Same response to my feelings. Yep. And the week of the COs visit the men crawled out of the wordwork.

But, I can't help but wonder about those who took it all in and actually tried to live up to an impossible standard.
I can tell you about all those who did take it to heart: they are physically sick, worn down, depressed, chronically anxious, hopeless and helpless. It is any wonder there are so many JW women on all kinds of medication? My mom takes about 100 pills a day for different ailments. Sad.

Soledad - this is just like my mother. My mother is suffering from several ailments - and anxiety disorders. She is physically not well and is only in her late 50's. She had sometimes 6 kids to look after (step family) and my father had his own business that she helped out with and did the books. She spent so much time on "keeping up apperances" when we were kids, pioneering in April/May, attending all the assemblies (and helping out both sets of grandparents), meetings, service, she is just worn out now. She told me she wished she had of done things differently when we were kids, but there's no turning back the clock. BB

Danny you are such a sweetheart.

It's true that in nature, the most valuable thing is a womb. Sperm is cheap. <--->

whoah! it cut off the last part of my statement that said "don't jump on me for that statement, it is just a biological truth. It is sad that certain women don't realize this and try to do anything to get men to notice them... completely unnecessary.

Good thread! I remember aux pioneering in the summer months and rarely, rarely was there ever a man that went out in service.

I also remember how the powers that be - read elders - treated a dear friend who was being abused by her husband. "Oh sister so and so, we know your husband got drunk and chased you around the house with a sledge hammer, but what did you do to make him so angry?"

Grrrrr.... I'd like to pick up a sledge hammer and chase those yahoos around and see how they like it.

My mother is one of those that tries to live up to the impossible ideals - and shes managed to turn herself into a half real/half imagined invalid who is addicted to prescription medications. Very sad.

Apfergus, I remember a morning like that too! It was during summer vacation. We met at the Hall and no brother showed up to lead us dumb sistahs in prayer. Hahaha. So, the mother ran out in the parking lot to get "Stevie" who was 11 or 12 and throwing rocks at tires, to say the prayer for us. They were all digging in their purses for kleenex to put on their heads, when "Stevie" saved the day. A male child mumbled the magic prayer, and we were now able to go off in field service, yay!
