But, is it possible that the gf thought he was being taken advantage of by his family? Maybe that's why she wasn't all that interested in them.

Listener, he is a great guy. Without blowing his privacy, I'll just say that her interests in him not sharing his money was purely selfish. In other words, don't spend it on them, spend it on me.

She *was* well taken care of. He bought her things that a lot of wives don't even have.

Maybe one day I'll get him on the forum, and I sure would like to see some words of encouragement waiting for him....

My parents are going to that convention! They haven't asked me for any money though!

Isn't it a shame what guilt will do to you? He sounds like a nice guy, a poor sap. Taken in still, by the Watchtower smokescreens.

Assures him that she loves him but can not associate with him, and then proceeds to ask if he will help their family pay for a trip to Poland to attend the International Assembly this summer...............HELL NO!!?? I'd tell them they could take a bite of my big, white tushie~~~WHAT NERVE!

Since they had to make the announcement requesting delegates for these conventions 3 or 4 times and lowered the requirements of attendance each time I'm surprised that anyone is actually going.

Years ago as soon as an international convention was announced all the cool popular witnesses signed up and went over. It seems the sheep aren't so loose with their time and money.

Leeches. This is just another example of the phenomenon displayed by JWs that I like to call You Aren't Good Enough to Spend Time With Us, But Your Money Is Just Fine .

    EXACTLY!

But whoah...what are the odds in that?

Typical JW better-than-you-ares!! I actually feel sorry for him. Why did he feel any need to contribute at all!! Especially after she told him he still wasn't good enough to associate with. Was it the "I prayed to Jehovah" line or what?? The day a JW would pay for something for me, especially a vacation!! Now this JW can comment at the KH about Jehovah answering her prayer through a non-JW. This woman should be ashamed of herself. She couldn't ask fellow Jdubs for the $$$?

what an interesting story. I can well imagine how shocked you were when he told you he was raised a JW. small world.

He sounds like a really nice person and is way to forgiving. If someone in my family were to ask me for money to go to a convention I would tell them in no uncertain terms that, if you never associate with me or talk to me or include me in anything and you tell me I am dead, then there is no way in hell I would give them a dime.

Hypocrits ....the nerve of some people.

thanks for sharing and hope all works out well for Rico..
