Do you think that there will come a time when the WTS will be a thing of the past and people will look into their history books and say "oh yeah those JW's were around for over 120 years and now they are no longer around today in the year 20___?" My friend thinks that JW's will not collapse and will probably get "stronger" with time. I hope not because I am just sick of the whole WTS and JW's religion. My hats off to anyone that wants to worship in their beliefs but I just have a problem with any group of people that tells you "My way or the highway". What do you think posters will JW's be a memory in the history books of tomorrow or will they still be knocking on our great-great-great grandkids doors telling them that Armaggeddon is set for the year 2120?
Do you think that the WTS is going to "collapse" and there will be no JW's?

I dont think the end of the organization will come in any of our life times.
But i doubt that it'll last pass 2100.
Sooner or later, they'll be more people being disfellowshipped/dissassociated as opposed to those who are active.
In my opinion, the WTBS right now is banking on third world countries. Thats where most of the growth is coming from these days.
I have a theory that china will eventually become a "democracy" and this will open the doors to greedy organizations like the WTBS, church of latter day saints and Scientologists.

even as generations go off religion as a whole, and it becomes less of a must. note how more recent generations want to drink and be chavs in tracksuits and nike trainers. can you imagine them with such discipline in the KH?
Yeh for a good while there are gonna be JW's but there will be a point when the people in are too old and can't have more kids, the money will drop out and the slowdown, folks leaving anyway e.t.c

Yeah, IMHO within 15 years max. Then we will be there to help out these people to cure from the WTBT$.

I often read about the ‘collapse of the WT Society’ and if that should ever happen it would be a thrilling experience for those who had to suffer and were silenced under the WT directives.
Some JW’s I know get exited whenever WT-destruction-claims are made, believing this to be the fulfilment of prophecy, Satan turning against true worship, then Armageddon taking them right into paradise.
As an active JW I felt this organization to be so large and influential, in the center of world events and ever so important. But after a while as a free thinking person I realized how insignificant and small this group is. Also those so-called false religions waters are not drained out; to the contrary, many religious formations can count an immense increase in active membership, far more increase compared with the JW org. However, the fall of the WTS has been prophesied since Russell’s day, and it has survived the many disappointments through its false prophecies and dates. It has always found an interpretation to every situation plus denying its own literature and history.
Exposing and educating about the WTS, of which the internet is an effective avenue, presents a threat to its leadership.
I don’t know what the future holds for the WTS, maybe after the old hardliners grow even older the new GB members will gradually turn mainstream. Maybe the cry of the silent lambs will be so earsplitting that it can no longer be covered up. In time the ‘Last Days’ will be stretched out for so long, perhaps the majority of JW will come to their senses. Whatever the case, there have always been mind-control-groups large and small with either sort or long histories in every country.
It is my hope the Law will force policy change within the WTS and let members realize their rights and duties towards the community and their children, not letting elders control there thinking and actions. The WTS being an end-time-cult tells me it is doom to end one happy day!

I guess more WT accumulate failed predictions, interpretations and show that their light is blinking, dimishing etc. they will pass slowly into history. They won't go away entirely, but they will lose their role. How long they will be able to tell that end is near... Other thing what could (I don't believe) is that they transform into mainstream christianity as Adventists did. But I guess they will soon be gone as there will be more expenses to cover the lie then gains.

There are so many naive JWs that it seems hard to believe they will come to nothing by losing all their followers, however they can get seriously weakened by a good information campaign that will really expose their many errors.

No. The WTS will not suddenly "explode". Instead they will gradually loose members until the organization dies a quiet and unnoticed death.
The WTS will die with a quiet whimper.

Won't die. It'll evolve just as it has been over the last 100 years. It will continue to have its ups and downs, it will change doctrine based on the times and older members will leave or die off and new members will join.
People still join Scientology. People still join the Mormons. People still get caught up in destructive cults. People still believe in the Pope. People will still be JWs.

I must reluctantly say probably not in our lifetimes. What could possibly bring such a thing about?
* Dummy R&F just all quit? Looks like many young will quit and thin them out but some will always be brainwashed.
* Government taxes them out of existence? Been tried - they just spun things around so they are not selling anything or have any employees.
* Run out of money? Maybe in about the year 2525, but they are about as rich as Warren Buffett for now, and still collecting money on all those investments. Already cutting back Bethel expenses and circling the wagons.
* Shamed our of existence by false prophecy/scandal? Don't think so - they made it through UN - gate, Draft Dodger - gate, 1975, Generation Change, etc. already. These seem to cause them to dip maybe 10-15% for a while but so far they have rebounded. Saw a sign in the quickmart the other day - "can't buy alchohol if you were not born by 1985". Young adults today in that org were not even born when the 1975 thing happened and could probably care less. The UN thing - it hurt, but they seem to have successfully lied their way out of it.
* Internet? Most serious challenge so far; but probably can still brainwash a good percentage that this is Satan's workshop and to avoid it like the plague. Just disfellowship for logging on...
What I think is that they are headed to a descending spiral to finally stabilize into something like the present day 7th Adventists. They will react to diminishing attendance by first a clamp-down (which we see now and is not apparantly working) followed by a gradual normalization into a less demanding fringe religion led by a younger GB. Thus, kind of like Adventism or Pentecostals. But in fact still around as a very rich and secretive org who delights in screwing with peoples lives. We may have, however, seen the last of prophetic dates for the future.
Pessimistic I know - but thats my honest call for now.
