I've thought about stealing and 'using' brooke's picture a few times... Just not as my avatar!
Shock - But that'd be going from one extreme to another - please do it! or at least post as a nice pile of cow crud or something rats for good avatars

being the wet blanket that I am, I have to express my surprise that people would be so concerned about "stealing" an avatar - which you probably don't own and have no legal claim to, and at the same time practice copyright piracy by making copies or arguing on behalf of making copies of copyrighted software and books.
I recall one discussion that pivoted around the concept that Ray Franz's books were "too valuable" for him to be allowed to profit from - that for the greater good Ray's books should be illegally copied and displayed on the intenet for free.
Oh, but AVATARS! Here we're walking on sacred ground!
