Christians never have had to be told to love people except by Jesus. If a group has to tell its followers to love one another you can very well take it to the bank that they are very far removed from the Christianity that Jesus taught.
I`m perplexed; What legislates for the gross lack of love?

I think it comes from high up, the leaders don't give the good example and the R&F imitate them, this a commercial organisation at heart and one can't expect to find christian love in such a place.

Dr Jekyll hit the nail on the head:
I think it all fell apart down the hall when we were told by the co to stop associating outside the hall as a congregation. by that I mean there were no longer congregation zoo trip or days out, in-fact groups of 4 or more were frowned upon.
My congregation took the counsel to heart and became very frosty. A few years later a different Co got up on the platform and told us all off for not being very friendly as a congregation!
This is exactly what happened to my hall years ago - no get-togethers with the exception of showers and funerals - blah!!!! We became known as the clicky cold congregation of the south side (of Milwaukee). The back stabbing and paranoia of everyone really got out of had the less everyone associated together. I missed the picnics with baseball, volley ball and grilling. And the community center gatherings in winter with basketball, pool, bowling, and of course FOOD with a convenient bar on site . The more rules enacted the less joy will be in that org. The more fear and depression

Good Morning Everybody:When you apply these Scriptures to the whole world, including JW's and their KH's it becomes clear the god of this system of things is very active, everywhere!
Pray for Jah and Jesus to help us all endure these wicked last days and to re-learn how to worship in spirit and truth, with or without the WTS.
Much Christian Love to All

2 Timothy 3:1-7
1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

Love is a funny thing when its conditional. Like someone said, when you first come in the door, your swamped by the hounds. but after your in, they are looking for new prey. your newness weares off so on a sub-consous level you adopt the same attitude.
Also its hard to hear how much we love others and then be told to narrow your association to barely 3-5% of your local community. If they were to preach love everyone, treat everyone the way christ did, JW's would all feel better about themselves and the world in general. Of course if you felt better about the world and your position in it, they couldn't scare you constantly about its imminent demise. -

The JW's have a dysfunctional parent. Their message, "Do as I say, not as I do." So the message in the magazines and the platform is "love more", "forgive", but the congregation are not given any tools to do so. Behind closed doors, in the back rooms, elders are bullied by their superiors, and in turn, bully the congregation.
- They can't invite complete strangers over for dinner unless they have first determined their spiritual status.
- They are told to forgive blindly with no requirement on the part of the offender to make things right.
- They must obey without discernment.
- They are to follow their conscience as long as that conscience is a perfect reflection of current doctrine.
Doublethink. Cognitive Dissonance. There's no way for JW's to remain balanced this way. Combined with this we have people living in a tiny community, where every action is scrutinized. I don't think it's just "love bombing" that brings so much attention rushing at the "new ones". It's a fresh face, a new source of information from the "outside" I consider the usual Kingdom Hall a fishbowl, too confining a space for human beings whose hearts could embrace so many more.

There are so many cults out there. They all have the same troubles.
Read about them. -

Anewme, I don't think I could handle more than one cult at a time! One's enough for me.
