And if they could set up at a Sam's Club, maybe they could just offer discount contributions on whole boxes of the books and magazines?

BTW, Target and the other stores received complaints from non-religious individuals and groups about the Salvation Army. They gave in, Walmart did not. Actually I'm surprised that Walmart is allowing this, but maybe it is a local thing.

I just sent the following to Walmart...
I am aghast that you would allow Jehovah's Witnesses to set up in front of your Evansville, Indiana store. Just a little research on them, and you would find many bad things that they teach that has led to countless deaths due to their false Unchristian teachings, not to mention the Child abuse scandals and the shunning issues with family just to name a couple of things. If you allow cults to set up in front of your stores, you will undoubtably leave a bad taste with consumers and lose business. Sincerely, CJ *****
Not that I would shop there anyways, but...

They could make a policy not to allow religious groups who don't do charitable work. Easy to distinguish charities from bible bashers with no charitable programs.

Holy Bookbags, Batman!
I happen to be very aware of Walmart policy due to my personal circumstances. They strictly forbid solicitation on the property - I don't know how these jdubs got them to relax the policy.
I actually put Walmart at the top of the 'econonic cults' list myself. There are tremendous similarities between the jdubs style and theirs in many ways. It is a marriage made in hell I suppose.
BTW Jourles - you must have passed close by my house to get down there. Wish we could have gotten together for a beer as you passed by.

i dont know about now but in the past... i'd say early 90s.. several jw sisters worked at walmart and many more in that area were the ladies that stood around offering food and product tastings. maybe enough work there that walmart let them set up the booth.
in that area... evansville, indiana and the nearby ky counties,a big percentage of the people who worked offering food tastings, product coupon tables etc.. were jw's. again, early to mid 90s.. i've been outta the loop a long time.

Back in the old days we would loiter in the parking lot and snag people on the way out as they were going to their cars so it would require effort on their part to go back in and report us. We were never even close to having permission to setup something like this.

funny and sad actually. Its funny how weird it all looks to me now, even though I would have never gone to this extent even when I was in.

The setup looks like the college fairs they held at my high school. Advertising it like it's a good thing. I've never seen that done before by witnesses.
Personally, I demise ANY religious setup or bell ringing at places I intend to spend money at.
