One minor nitpick on your 'desert' example: The Sahara is a 'desert' but chocolate cake is 'dessert.' The spelling itself differentiates it. The way I was taught to remember it as a child is that you would want seconds of a dessert (thus the double 's'), not the sandy desert.
Words often do not by and of themselves give real meaning. Take for example the word 'desert'. Unless you read that word in some sort of context, the writer must explain weather he/she means 'desert'...chocolate cake after dinner, or 'desert'..the sahara.
The word for chocolate cake after dinner is "dessert".
Try again, after pride has deserted you.

I can't help but agree with Larc's sentiments, but near the end of his involvement here, his own actions (posts) did not harmonize with them. His posts toward me personally became very juvenile and needlessly personal. It was behavior I had come to believe was below his stature. He talked the talk, just failed to walk the walk. Just my opinion.

There a lot of good information on this board and I beleive a lot of freedom still.
If it's all about being a good witness for the witness then we should kick Shelby out or perhaps anybody that don't beleive in GOD should be kicked out, because it might stumble the lurking witness.
I dont' think this board is for a witness.
It's for truth, and honesty for releiving a little frustation with the WT, for learning how to coup with leaving the Borg.
But I don't think it's for giving a witness, and if we censure, then any witness we give is a false one.

I too left but for only 24 hours actually believe it or
not ,it was a e-mail from Prisca that turned me around.
But she continued on.I decided not to let them win.

did so in a comfortable tone. Your one of the people I respect
here. I do see your point though. I was brought here by my
brother to help me see the WHOLE light. If he would have
brought me to this I would have said you got to be kidding.
So for the " Small circle of Friends " who have decided
not to come back or are still on the fence--- I ask again
Should we let them win? How many more must fall by

Thanks for tip on remembering the proper spelling of 'dessert'. As Tj would say 'my bad'. Never claimed to be a great speller. I should have chosen a more accurate analogy. I hope the misnomer did not negate my reasoning on the use of individual words.

Wow, what you percieve as a personal attack is mind bending. I did in fact not call you profane names, nor did I intend to. If you can't abide someone pointing out how you act, or even the perception of how your comments are recieved, then it is you that has the problem, not I. What I said is what I believe and have witnessed you doing, many times on this forum.

I think you put your own spin on my words. Yes I would like this place to be more civil, welcoming any and all that have an interest. But as to trying to emulate the 'jw' way of witnessing...well you just don't know me.
Ive been out of the org for over 20yrs now. I make no excuses for their depraved dogma, nor do I care to emulate any of their judgemental ways.
What I will not allow myself to do, is to abandon civility or just plain good manner's, predicated on the fact that I have been hurt deeply by this WTBS. Being hurt, undergoing lifes struggles is no excuse for spewing vitriol and profanity, at anyone.
Believe me Iam no namby pamby, I can cuss and swear with the best of em. I just think this is not the time or place, to use these words to make personal attacks on those we disagree with.

I've seen it happen right here, to some of my former friends. When the overall tenor and atmosphere wreaks of negative, thoughtless and crass behavior, one has to adapt to it, try to make a change, or leave.
I thing Larc realized that his whole persona had changed due this. So he decided to regroup and get his priorities back. I know what he was like when I first visited this forum back in late March early Feb.
I refuse to let these bullies with big nasty mouths, turn me into one of them. They can cry foul, say Iam against free speech, malign me, but Ive got them wired now. They can't hide anymore. I for one have got them pegged...wont be fooling this bear, anymore.

Without hearing from him, I actually thought that was the case. I sensed that Larc was not really EVER one of 'them,' has way too much class, too much style. I saw how he came thru the so-called "Race Wars" with a reputation unscathed by all the bitter words that others spouted. He'll be back, the same ol' Larc I came to respect, even though we are sure to have our differences of opinion. I have no doubt of that.

I agree that Larc will be missed until he decides to return. Whenever I go to bed thinking about this place, and wake up with the same thoughts on my mind, I know it is time for me to get back to the real world. That is when I make myself take a break. It is amazing the different perspective this can give you.
For that reason I hope many who have left recently will never feel compeled to stay away, simply because they realized the need for a break. Max, Larc, Prisca, you have every right to return when you feel up to it. Don't let any of these naysayer's who pride themselves for never announcing their vacations from the board, deter you from coming back. If you do, they will win. Iam tired of these 'self righteous' who show no compassion, getting their way. Time to stand up to em, and call their bluffs.
