Appearences can be deceptive, with a money minded organisation like the WTS it's hard to believe that they are giving out so generously and without an ulterior motive. There has to be a catch somewhere.

The WTS doesn't spend money that is has not received donations or promisory notes for.

I sympathize with your collective skepticism. I think while the source is very well placed, they may be misinterpreting what they
have gathered from others. I am , however, eager to hear about any sort of "Shoes of the Fisherman" debacle that the Society may
have gotten themselves into. You must admit that they have overestimated the generosity of the publishers on more than one occasion.
( voluntary donations, food service at assemblies, paying for the new presses, etc.)

In the event a local disaster destroys a handful of kingdom halls, no biggie: They pay out enough to replace the destroyed hall.
Can anyone confirm receipt of said check in the event of a disaster? Or is the congregation and circuit simply leaned on to squeeze more money out?
