A poster named individual is the first poster I ever replied to on JWD 3 days after I joined....it took me 3 days to get up the nerve to post and it seemed like the longest 3 days of my life and I remember being so nervous I was shaking, so sure I would be outed and soon DF'ed!
I had read with much interest for weeks prior posts by;
Simon,Farkel,AlanF,YouKnow,Fredhall,onacruse,Amazing,seven006,Beck_Melborne,Cassiline,
Seven,JanH,Dutchie,Victor_E,larc,LB,Cowboy,searcher,Mulan and Princess just to name a few who really exposed the WTS and opened my eyes to the "truth about the troof" and some who spoke on a personal level that I could really connect with in my beginning days on the forum.I was really welcomed in Chat and had some of my best times there getting to know so many awesome people who are still around some I still keep in touch with personally, especially that onacruse guy! So many too many to name but they all had a huge part in my exiting the WTS for which I'm glad of, thanks to all of you awesome chatters!

There is another possibility you might allow for, if your actual intent is to fairly consider the possibilities. They may be mature enough that they don't allow their mention or lack of mention to affect them one way or another. They may not be flattered by mention, and may not be incensed by anyone's failure to mention them.
If "flattery" expressed toward others causes you to become incensed, then you allow what you perceive as flattery to affect you. Maybe you will mature beyond that point some day. In this case, with this particular thread, I believe the flattery is only in your own mind.
Or do you deem any public expression of appreciation to be flattery? If so, perhaps you haven't experienced much appreciation. Maybe if you weren't so focused on how others affect you, you might find that you will begin to be appreciated more. Of course, that is just a theory...well, more of an hypothesis, I suppose.

For myself, jst2laws and joyzabel, because they were like a second set of parents to me once upon a time and I finally came looking for them.
Narkissos and Leolaia, for their tireless and cordial devotion to accuracy of statement and abundant helpfulness, it was immediately apparent.
AlanF because he was caustic...dunno why that caught my attention, but he was among the first few I noticed.
AlmostAthiest, because I love Fry from Futurama.
seven006, 'cause he jumped all over my ass when he thought I was playing some kind of "gotchya" game with jst2laws.
And, because of their copious posts, a rat and the 7-Up dot "Cool Spot" (which everyone kept calling an M&M ?).
That's not nearly all the posters I admire, disdain, appreciate, hope for, and respect (i.e. now take notice of), but those are the ones I noticed when I first joined.

I never understood why people go on threads they dont like just to stir up trouble. If you dont like the content, why not just stay away? I dont see this thread as a "who is popular" thread at all.

Farkel was one that got me noticing "apostate" sites. And I do miss playin' with the oversensitive bastard. He took these sites sooooooooo seriously that if you even intimated disagreeing with him, you were going to be subject to his verbal abuses. Ohhhh, how I miss the old days!
