At first I thought it was Russian, but it was definitely Spanish at the end. And of course English.

Have you seen the "HansoCareers.com" website yet? Most of the jobs listed there require multiple languages, sometimes 4 or 5 or more....

since the show seems to have an Australian 'flavor'... my guess is that the 'statue' - or what is left of it... of the four-toed foot and part of leg - is that of a Yowie.

    Just a guess, though.

"What happened to Sayid after he started the signal fire with the black smoke?"

Remember that Michael lead his friends inland and into a trap instead of to the shore so Sayid's black smoke was miles away from them. When the hatch went nuts, Sayid and the Koreans were sailing -probably back.

I think Desmond's girfriend (Penelope) and her father are financing the Dharma thing. And since food is till being dropped by parachute, the project is working as wanted.

Things fell into place neatly, but when they showed the Colosus' foot (with four toes) that throws the series into an archaeological/scientific/destiny mayhem.

More than mystery, I like to witness the unexpected. P retty good series, for American producers.

Bryan, I will have to watch it again, but I think they were speaking Spanish.

The two scientists in the Pole were not speaking Spanish, I'm 99% sure it was Italian.

Not a very tactful little snub you felt the need to add at the end there.

What's up with that? Jealous of the fact that American TV finally made a TV series that rivals, and in some cases is better than anything on Euro-vision?

That would make sense since I only caught certain words that are similar. I have to wait until tonight when I watch it again.

They were speaking portuguese. I am 100% certain of this as I know many portuguese speaking people and picked up some words along the way.

    Tchau!

Okay, I'll play along because I'm totally lost. You all are talking about a TV show? Never heard of it. Guess I'll go read some of the links.

No, Robdar Nexflix the Lost Season 1 DVDs, and as soon as they are out get Season 2. You won't be sorry.

Finally TV that does not play to the "Survivor" mentality.

I can by that. Portugeuse, while being a Romance language, has a different ring to it than Spanish, Italian or French. Don't ask me to defend that point, it's totally subjective.
