I knew a circuit with an A and B side who discovered that 4 people were getting baptized on the A side and none on the B side. The CO asked 2 of the people to come to the B side and get baptized so that both sides would have someone standing up.
Maybe someone could volunteer to be rebaptized.

I seem to recall a post on JWD about an assembly (CA) where nobody was baptized. I think this will be more and more common as time goes on.
I was at one of those in the early 90's. They still gave the talk, and still asked the two questions. Nobody stood up. The pool was ready, but no one stood. I was shocked, but I was a true believer back then.

Some of the ones i've been to have had nobody get baptized. This one year a girl was going to get baptized but when she found out she was the only one she backed off.
As for seeing this religion fall in our lifetime, I really don't know. Developed countries will continue to see a major decrease in the coming decades for sure. Eventually membership will reach all time lows and then start to sink. The next 20 years is not going to be good for them for sure though.
in the last 3 years there were several assemblies in this area where there were no baptism candidates and yet they still went through the charade (i mean talk).
in a misguided attempt to get the numbers up i was baptised twice, once at the age of 13 and then again at 19 (no seriously i wanted to absolutely certain).
for the first time in my life i am now absolutely certain.
Over the years when I was a JW I have seen the number of those baptised at an assembly in our Cicuit go from 30+ to 0.

I guess they were making sure to have the exact program as other assemblies.
God no! I'd have to share my Long Island Iced Tea that I plan on takin' to help me get through the day........
