Actually, I know of several JWs that argue that they will be sitting down to a steak in paradise...saying that the animals will not be eating humans (I guess those JWs don't want to be on the menu). They point to the Bible account of Abel who killed sheep for his sacrifice which God accepted indicating to them that meant killing animals was okay. Would it be more realistic to say that animals won't be eating humans or hurting humans but be eating other animals.

BTW, does anyone have the WT picture of the boy fishing in the JW earthly paradise? I wonder if it was just catch and release?

Also, did you notice that the WTS never shows meat on the banquet table in the "new world" illustrations? Vegetables, fruit, nuts, hardly any cooked foods. Is that a hint?

Nellie according to the latest ideas Neanderthals walking among us wouldn't cause any surprises for being unusually different. Some of their features are found in individual humans living today.

I forgot to say, a dub once told me that in the past there were trees producing meat as their fruit that carnivores used to eat just as other plants produced blood that blood sucking creatures eg mosquitos, ticks, leeches, vampires, used to drink so as not to bother humans and other animals.

After man's fall they became extinct, though he believes some still exist in the jungles of Indonesia, so carnivores to survive had to eat other animals.

Nellie I wonder if Tommy Lee Jones with his pronounced eyebrow ridges, sloping forehead and broad nose is a Neanderthal hybrid. All he needs is a short chin to look just like a Neanderthal clone.

Never underestimate the broad sweep of the JW argument, jehovah can make all animals vegetarian, round of carnivores that will eat dead animals.

I was thinking about this yesterday whilst watching a program on animals of prey. Owls have amazing sonar, Hawks amazing sight, Bats amazing radar that enables them to hit and kill their prey with great stealth. Loggerhead turtles have vicelike jaws and teeth designed to crush crustaceans to eat.

The Watchtower teaches that these animals were vegitarian prior to Adam (or was it Noah?). Anyway, did the animals evolve that rapidly these remarkable abilities, or did God change them on the day they were suddenly allowed to become meat eaters?

It also depends on what the fossil record shows I don't think there is any change of features to go from herbivore to carnivore.

See, how clever they are with not saying the hot issues here. In the whole article they only claim that people and animals will live in peace and they quote some bible text without telling explicitely it has to be taken literal.
