Very sad. Too young to die.

No, I don't think they did it, but it ruined their life and reputations.

I agree. Talk about adding insult to injury, I always felt so sorry for them with all the publicity and it seemed the focus was in the wrong place and a murderer was never caught.

I agree with BigTex. I too had heard that a pedophile was on the loose at that time.........However, I tend to think that, like the Elizabeth Smart case, it was someone who could have been remotely linked to the family somehow who killed her. I don't know if they had a maid or housekeeper, but a scenario that can come to mind would be say, the brother or son of a housekeeper could have easily taken a key to the house and killed her. To me, there was no motive for John or Patsy Ramsey to kill their daughter. The beauty pagent thing was, indeed "creepy" and I don't agree with people dressing their daughters up like that, but why would they kill her? Or why would her brother kill her? What would the motive had been?

I would like to think some outsider did it, and hopefully got run over by a truck or something before he could harm anyone else.

However, I cannot help remembering how creepy this whole family acted during the investigation.

I also have never been able to reconcile that "ransome note" with a credible outside burglar-kidnapper-molester theory...who leaves a complex ransome note and also leaves the body there for everyone to find????? And with all kind of insider type details?

I will say publicly that Andy and Barney of Newberry could have done a better job investigating the crime scene. And, IMHO, Aunt Bee could have made a better case of it before that Grand Jury.

Sad that we will probably never know.

    How sad for the family!

I don't think she had anything to do with Jon Benet's murder. It's one of those unsolved cases I really wish would be solved.

    How odd.

There was an article on the girl in the Observer on Sunday this weekend. No mention of the mother dying, so I guess it was just a coincidence that mum died after.

The article mentioned that it had snowed, but that there was no snow on the lawn leading to the broken window, so there wouldnt have been footprints anyway. It mentioned that she had been hit by a taser gun. It mentioned that the layout of the house inside was so odd that you wouldnt have known which room was her bedroom unless you had an intimate knowledge of the house. It mentioned that the ramson letter asked for EXACTLY the same amount of money that the girls dad had been awarded that year as his annual bonus.

It mentioned three people who were very strong suspects because they owned taser guns, they owned clothing with the same 4 initials as the hostage letter was signed with, and that 2 of them had cuttings of the little girl.

I guess we will never know.

One thing I know for sure though, it sure is demented to dress up a little girl like a grown woman and enter her into contests that are bound to inflame paedophiles within 100 mile radius.

yes about the beauty pageant thing. and i certainly don't agree with it and it seems really inappropriate for a child to be involved in this stuff.....i hate it......that being said, patsy ramsey was a veteran beauty pageant participant herself from a very young age. was miss (virginia i think?) and came from that background.....and that southern belle culture. so to her it probably seemed very normal and something good she was doing for her child.
