nytelecom why don't you just accept that the WTBTS does not care about non JW people... just because most of us here are ex-jw doesn't mean we can't remember the attitudes prevalent in that org. Another poster here said something to the effect that the society of JWs has seceded from humanity. please stop trying to pretend otherwise.

Other religious organizations chipped in to help any and all who needed it. The WTS had thousands of people walking across the Brooklyn bridge just a few hundred yards from Bethel. I wonder if they travelled those few hundred yards to offer even water to those walkers?
Other religious organizations donated money to the relief effort. I wonder if the WTS did.
Other religious organizations encouraged the donating of blood. The WTS now allows this to be done under some circumstances for JWs. I wonder if the WTS encouraged any of its members to donate blood. At the very least to cover all the blood JWs use in hospitals when they take blood fractions.
NYT, did the WTS do any of those things, or did they just help any JW who straggled over the Bethel? Did they make an effort to reach out, or did they only help those who came to them and happened to share their religious beliefs? That's the key difference between the WTS and anyone else.

G'day you guys,
You're wrong, Room215, they did do something! (in my best sarcastic tone).
They arranged for witnessing groups to go out from Bethel. You know, men in best business suits and all.
I kid you not. No, really, I have e-mail from ones who were engaged in it. Pioneers who were stranded were thus given the opportunity to "get their time in".
Contrast this with the images we saw in Oz last night via CNN of Salvation Army booth at 'gateway' to sealed off area handing out refreshments to ALL those entering, volunteers and police and firefighters and just everyone. Like you say, Room215, the WTS "blew it".
Cheers,

and once again, nytel has no answers.
Im sorry i was just on the phone with my neighbor who lost her brother in law......jdubla...fuck off
the problem is that most of you are "wondering" what the society has done. I encourage any of you to call the Society and get a response to what they have done.

No nytelecom.
The problem is people like you.
You are not to be trusted as a Witness, neither as a non witness.
You are a fake person, a sitter of fences and a disgrace to a set of standards.
Make your mind up. For no respect is due to you, and your words ring hollow.

such a christ-like response, thank you for showing your true colors mr. ministerial servant. one last thought, the passages that i quoted have been up for over a day, were you on the phone with you neighbor for 24 hours? and if youre so wrapped up in the tragedy, and do not have time for replies, then please quit replying in posts such as this one, where you imply the society has done so much more, when you cant even give one example:
have any of you actuallly made an attempt
to verify the WTS lack of "action"
I know many of you have because you all live
in NYC.
I am also sure no matter what they did,it would
never be enough to satisfy you.nytel, you continue to show your foolishness.

NYT, I'm sorry that the tragedy touched you closely. However, who gives a crap whether that poor soul was a JW or not? What difference does that make? Does that make you care more about him?
As far as what the society has done, we already know. They cleaned their own sidewalks, shut the doors and drew the shades, then sent out special preaching groups. Probably dug up all the old terrorist back issues for them. Oh, we almost forget the few dozen or so JWs that they feed AFTER those JWs came to them. I wonder if they checked for blood cards before allowing 'strangers' in. I'm sure NY thanks their lucky stars to have such a fine group in their midst.

NYtelecon is right we have to find out first if the WT is helping. So with that in mind let me be the first to tel you guys that having worked now three days at ground Zero, I have yat to see or hear of any donations or relief help coming from the WTS.
If they did they would have been registered by now just like every other org. that has donated millions.
It's sad as I was looking at the list of all donations made by so many companies I came across a donation of $1000 made by a group of kids in Mississpi.
Now how pathetic is that? That the WTS can't even donate that amount to the victims families? And We have to wait on kids to take the lead?
There's your answer NYtelecom. If you are indeed in NY then you of all should know. If not get another call name...you don't deserve to carry the name.

thank you patriot for the first hand report. it reinforces what we have all heard from others in new york, and reinforces the thoughts on this entire thread. you say "how pathetic is that"....and that is perhaps the first response that pops to mind. but really the word that describes it best is SAD. its truly sad.
