If they did they would have been registered by now just like every other org. that has donated millions. It's sad as I was looking at the list of all donations made by so many companies I came across a donation of $1000 made by a group of kids in Mississpi.
Patriot,
do you have a link so we can see if the WBTS does anything?
Thanks!

For those that missed it, here is an account of bethel locking its doors at noon to keep out strangers. This is on another thread, It can be found, The 3 'worldlings' that they gave coffee and sandwiches to must have staggered in befor noon, when jehovah locked the ark doors.
I give the wt a couple of weeks to manufacture an account of how they were at the forefront of an unprecedented outpouring of humanitarian aide.

Rebekah called us at 6 AM and it was
very clear that she was traumatized by this event. It
was 9 AM there ..only 15 minutes after the first plane
hit the first of the twin towers. She was telling me
how they all heard the first plane hit the first
tower. She and three other sisters who were working on
the 28th floor of the 90 Sands building ran to look
out and could see that the tower was on fire. One of
the sisters turned on the TV in the room in which they
were standing. And they alternately looked at the news
and out at the burning building. Then....as they were
looking out the window they saw the second plane fly
close to the second tower and were stunned when that
second hit came! Keep in mind....what they saw was not
far away, and, their view was opposite of what we are
all seeing on TV. They could see the plane approach
from the left (our view on the TV has the plane flying
in on the right), and then they could see how the
pilot aimed dead center and hit the building...whereas
we see on the news, the plane disappears behind the
first tower and you see the resulting fireball out to
the left. Bethel had any workers who had jobs on the
12th floor or higher, come down and work below the
11th floor. ALL the factory workers have been
evacuated. At lunch, the governing body made a special
announcement that all the Bethel shuttles were not
going to be running. All Bethelites were to 'stay' in
the building they were in until it was time to go
home. Until then...no walking between the buildings
and all buildings are locked down--for security. (They
had one man on the street run in for 'safety'...and
they don't want any 'strangers' coming in!). You know
how Bethel keeps everything so clean? Well, there are
crews of brothers doing clean up detail outside.
Paperwork from the offices in the WTC are floating
down like confetti...many spattered with blood. If
nothing else, maybe people who have not yet listened
to 'the message' will be able to see how 'normal' life
can change in a heartbeat! Love and hugs,
Donna and Mike

NYT,
You LIVE in NYC, right? What have you personally done to help? Last night there was a request for donations of bottled water and juices, gauze bandages, anti-bacterial ointments, large-size bandaids and filter masks, to be donated to the many 'first-aid' stations near the site. Items that would not break one's budget, but would be so useful to those engaged in the hands-on rescue/clean-up efforts.
I'm truly not telling you this to be sarcastic. I think it would be a small but meaningful contribution on your part that would be much appreciated by your public servants and all other men and women engaged in the massive clean-up efforts. And, I bet it would make you feel good, too.
And, since you are a New Yorker, why don't you personally call the Society and ask about any relief efforts other than some temporary assistance to the JW's themselves. If we are wrong, you can report back to us as to how they are contributing. Speaking for myself, I would be glad to hear that the Society is helping in immediate relief efforts in some meaningful fashion.
Noidea,
No I don't have any links just what I was able to read at teh Chelsea piers at 23rd st which is the "base" where all the workers are coming out of. This is where all the clothing and canned foods, water ,etc. are coming into. Apart from that they are keeping a very accurate list of all org. (and people) donations that are being made.
Msnbc might have a list online, they where covering that part of the story. I don't have the time to see but I'm pretty sure that they have it somewhere.

-yes zazu, i had made almost the exact same statement to nytel. when i repeated it though, i was told to f**k off. indeed a curious response from a member of such a loving brotherhood.

Hello NYT,
No person is truly condemning the actions of individual JW's on this thread, many of whom would like to react in a more Christian manner to this tragedy, but a genuine and righteous anger is being verbalized at the leadership of the JW’s who have indeed reacted to this disaster with a customary sterile and lukewarm response.
For example NYT, the JW’s in a North American city wanted to open their homes to persons stranded at the airport of their city due to the WTC disaster. The local elders checked policy over this issue with the Branch and were instructed by the Branch that there was ‘no way’ that the Society was going to allow this to happen. Their reaction - ‘we will help when we are asked and not before’. The desire to show love and support to these people was stifled by the leadership, not by the local JW’s. Some have, in disgust, ignored the Branch policy and have offered their homes. I can assure you of the veracity of this example, I am personally very close to it.
NYT, people on this board often strike out at JW’s in frustration because they cannot strike out at the GB and their support team, the true religious criminals in this scenario. While this behavior is unfair and actually counter-productive to the XJW cause, it is at least understandable, which is much more than can be said for the WTS confusion about who their neighbor really is.
Best regards - HS

As I asked in a related thread: Considering their immodest claim to being the only genuine Christians on earth, the historic immensity of the disaster, the magnitude of their resources and their priceless logistical advantage (right across the harbor from Ground Zero) is it not fair to label their tepid response ``reprehensible?''
